@Bombaywalla what is your opinion on Indian tractors? :P

.
There is indeed a boom. There is an Escort factory on my way to work. I see an unending line of trucks loading up all day.

Each truck takes 6 to 8 tractors. This is just one of many manufacturing units.

Isn't doomsday prophets saying that Indian economy is tanking, no money with farmers, failure of crops...

These tractors are good indeed..but not upto world class per se but are enough for indian n african n latin american countries.
As the level of mechanization and sophistication of farming improves these companies will have to come up with better products.
For now they are serving well n getting good foreign exchange for us.

India is a developing country whereby the country's factories produce many machinery, its civil contractors are able to design and build many important barrages, dams, bridges, ports & harbors and many other difficult structures, its companies can design and build power stations, etc. etc. There are many other things that Indian companies cannot do or the quality of their products is low, but, even then they manufacture railway coaches, steel tracks, signaling system. They build cars and trucks.

India is developing, but it still remains poor. A day will certainly come when it will still be developing, but its economic conditions will improve. All the developed countries of today had to go through this painful long process of step by step progress. Rome was not built in a day and the modern economy of a country is not developed in a short span of time. However, some BD posters in the PDF believe that there is almost no necessity to produce, build and manufacture many things inside the country. Sell Chaddi and buy everything from the foreign countries. Is it called development or underdevelopment?
