Top 7 Reasons Why Pakistan’s SUPARCO is not successful as India’s ISRO

It's simple. Strategic organizations are all on decline since employees have low morale. Low salary, zero accommodation and medical is considerably worse compared to military. To top that, a retired Lt. Col. is often sitting above a serving grade 19 officer.

Since the formation of SPD, there haven't been major breakthroughs by these organizations except for ballistic missiles which a fine lot of neutral sources say might not have been completely indigenously developed.

As for lack of scientists, we have more than a dozen thousand scientists and engineers in our strategic organizations some of whom are extraordinarily capable.

Nopes. Thats not the case.

Dont believe what the world says, our missiles are ingeniously developed.

Look SPD is a necessity. Civilians dont fight in a war, Army does and Army is the one that is going to fire the missiles not civilians, so we need a command and control centre where military sits and we named it SPD

and this Lt Col sitting above a grade 19 officer ?? From where you get that ?? SPD is for security. We have to comply to the security protocols they decide. They dont interfere with our work though. That is carried out by the scientist and engineers just like before

and low morale and salary ?? Low Morale is a big NO NO. I find all ppl very patriotic and very determined to do work. Salary and facilities are not that great but they arent bad either. Medical .... well PAEC new rule is that they are not going to refund any private hospital bill hence all employees have to check in to PAEC general hospitals that are not that great but PAEC is working on improving them. In past since private hospital bills were refunded everyone used to go there and get a very good care, now the load has increased on PAEC hospitals and they will take a little time to build the capacity required to deal with it

Dont worry brother, strategic organisations are working very well and the break throughs are there too. Just that we haven't announced them and will keep it that way.

Why this Pakistan obsessed troll got awarded a Positive rating?
Some people like to appear very pragmatic, open minded, neutral, but yet can't figure out, that guy slapped you on your face with his clueless BS.

It's like someone saying: look at my garage, your is just a tarp on 4 sticks, conveniently forgetting that I focused on my concrete house, not my garage. While he lives in a tin shed, and craps on the green belt in the middle of the road.

Top reasons for SPARCO to be behind most other countries

THERE IS NO POINT TO GO IN SPACE , we got issues to solve on ground hospitals / schools and food and energy

1- Finances/ Budget allocations (Federal)
2- Finances/ Budget allocations (Provincial)
3- Finances / Budget allocations (Military)
4- Finances / Budget allocation (Private Sector)
5- Lack of sufficient Jobs in this sector
6 - Lack of interest from Students to go into this sector (Lack of sufficient Full time Jobs)
7 - Hospitals / Schools are Top priority !!!!! for Pakistani

Due to lack of Substantial practical aspect of Astronomy , I do suggest we at least master in the Theoretical Physics / Astronomy branches such programs can survive with minimal budgets and with Hobbiest Astronomy private sector

Pakistani Space Program can only move forward with a Private sector Billionaire someone who can get licence from Pakistan to setup a Space Venture firm similar to "Elon Musk"

1113450-11-20170331140524.jpeg

Our present century's (our life time) , Dreamer Elon Musk going where no man has gone before. Similar to Wright brothers dream of flight , he is carrying the dream of private space venture into extremes of Space

Most Pakistani Billionaires are content with owning sports teams or buying other smaller companies or making more money they generally are not the type of tycoons that start the "Quest to tame the skies by flying" or chase the dream of "Space race". I think they make 1-2 Masjid and they are set up for Heaven in afterlife

It is very rare to find Pakistanis who like to reach the summit , climb and tame K2 or Mount Everest (I know there are few limited number of folks but they are not Billionaires)

  • The military / state / Scientist community is using their 99% focus on strategic projects for national defence

Certain problem also exist due to sanctions by certain countries and illegal detentions of people (business man ) who may have certain companies that have interest in space or aviation sector , as seen by recent ban on some Pakistani companies

Why would a rich business man get involved in line of business if the can be detained in xyz country ....for negotiating transfer of technology etc since there is no diplomatic support

If I am a honest Business man (as example and I have shit load of money) and I go to country xyz to get some business deal to manufacture special parts for space research , if I would be stopped and detained and treated like a criminal and there is no back up from Pakistan (On Diplomatic front / and Support for release) then it is a bit hard to have interest in such "SECTOR"

As an example if Elon Musk was flying over Pakistan's airspace you won't see F16 fighter jets scrambled to make his plane land in Pakistan and then he is sent to jail or you won't see Pakistan Secret services busting up Elon Musk on a private University speech and won't be let go untill he gives up his Lap top with vital secrets to space technology etc

For Pakistan the answer certainly is

a) Fix the hospitals / Schools and Energy sector
b) Get Private Sector involved and give them Full Immunity and Support for their Transfer of Technology efforts world wide
c) Work closely with friendly nations like China to explore future space goals

Some of OP points are indeed true like rampant corruption, political interference in departments, ran by retired Military Generals but the tune in which he wrote his observation is very negative.

Bullshits like this,

"The only achievement that Pakistan can boast of is the successful launch of its first fully functional communication satellite, the Paksat-1R.This satellite, however, it was not indigenous built. China was behind Paksat-1R’s design, built, launch and even funding; only a few components were built in Pakistan.
.

7)Corruption is the inseparable part of the Pak institutions. This has weakened the state’s institutions including SUPARCO"

So now you're going to tell us Corruption doesn't happen in India?!

It shows that we can handle constructive criticism,Something that indians can't
Yeah great. Please encourage more trolls with positive ratings. That would teach them.

Somebody is using Pakistan as benchmark to make himself or herself feel better exhibits sign of inferiority complex. :D

As for SUPARCO, Pakistan just got started. Just like Pakistan made CPEC reality, i am sure Pakistan will make SUPARCO active and thriving once the economy is stabilized. It is all about priority which right now is focus on stabilizing the economy to eradicate poverty instead of branding itself as SUPA POWA while ignoring one-third of the billion population of the world living in poverty happen to be India right now. That is not good news at all especially maniac leader like Modi is trying to provoke the Nuclear war by throwing the billion-populated nation taxpayers' money down the drain.

I wouldnt say that. Lots of skilled Pakistanis in North America and Europe. May be if Pakistan could tap them by convincing them to go back like China has done and India is trying to do.

Ideally yes. Practically nope. Pakistan has nothing to offer to retain the bright minds except the argument of 'patriotism'. And most patriots have already joined the army :)
Also all those pakistani you see in North America aren't probably muslim enough. Dr. Abdus Salam who started Suparco met his fate on account of being an Ahemdi. You think other scientists living the good life and having academic satisfaction wouldn't know his story?

Let me put it this way. All the patriots have joined army and all the believers have joined the local madarsa. If you are a talented scientist but not muslim enough, you probably won't survive the grind.

So who would wanna come back and stay, after acquiring a hard earned degree abroad? It just makes no sense.

There are fundamental flaws in his statements. The biggest one is of corruption, as any auditor will tell you, the bigger the budget, the more the chances of corruption. With Suparco's minuscule budget, the probability is extremely low, Irrespective of who is running it.

To compare it with ISRO is nothing but indulging in stroking thier ego. SUPARCO was set up for a reason, to get the tech for BM's, as mentioned by @Horus as well. That objective was achieved.

So no matter what these schmucks from gangaland say, it doesn't matter.

Somebody is using Pakistan as benchmark to make himself or herself feel better exhibits sign of inferiority complex. :D

No way I would encourage them you know how much I despise them. I was just trying to make a point.

@Jungibaaz @waz @WebMaster please check the negative. I don't know why he got negative rating. giving negative rating without reading post?
Yes you definitely don't know why he got a negative rating!:yahoo:
His tone was condescending. I guess you didn't read the better brains part did you?
It's already confirmed that Suparco's objective was something else and not to explore space.
You should worry about your own posts, rating and stop trying to snitch on me.

@Jungibaaz @waz @WebMaster please check the negative. I don't know why he got negative rating. giving negative rating without reading post?

I don't see any of your post rated as negative and if it is someone's else, better not to Flame the situation like this. The member whosoever being given negative rating, can contact GHQ Section and that is not someone else issue at all neither it should be, as such attitude derails the topic as well as causes off-topic posts. If you are issued with negative rating, contact as said instead of discussing the matter in open thread. As you don't know why one of the member is being issued with negative than better not interfere to derail the topic as member may contact GHQ section and will be informed in detail regarding the reason. Negative is not issued to you so better not discuss like this.

Thanks

Ok again We have access to more satalites then India can ever dream of i.e Chinese.. Someone please tell me why we need spend billions of dollars to launch our own? Also as i pointed out earlier we are ahead of India in many fields Nuclear, Aviation, Missiles , Drones.. Also our engineers have done a remarkable job with a tiny budget, something Indians can only dream of. enuff said

We will surly send Modi to moon once we done with the home grown terrorists.

Right on all counts, except one. Home grown terrorists - nearly dead, on thier death bed. The ones creating havoc currently are foreign intel agents.

and this Lt Col sitting above a grade 19 officer ?? From where you get that ?? SPD is for security. We have to comply to the security protocols they decide. They dont interfere with our work though. That is carried out by the scientist and engineers just like before

NESCOM and some administrative setups in other organizations as well.

Low Morale is a big NO NO. I find all ppl very patriotic and very determined to do work.

Sounds like you are affiliated with either SPD or a strategic organization. Lets just try and not put your background open in the world.

Salary and facilities are not that great but they arent bad either.

Well to be honest, all the young engineers and one or two scientists I know who were able to join PAEC are not provided any sort of accommodation except for ones in Chashma. Neither are they given house rent if single. I have first handedly seen more than a dozen GRADE 17 officers living in accommodations like this while visiting a classfellow somewhere near Karachi Company when I went to Islamabad for an NTS for IESCO. (random picture off internet and its still better)

Medical .... well PAEC new rule is that they are not going to refund any private hospital bill hence all employees have to check in to PAEC general hospitals
Entitled patients are being charged for facilities in PAEC hospital as well. You are free to visit.
