Don't you understand the simple difference between a name and a common name for all Indians ?

Bharti is a personal name. Indian is what citizens of India are known as.

I'm sure you will find many surnames like "mullah" , "mollah" ...first names like Chinki etc . It becomes a racist abuse when you start applying that word "indiscriminately" to all members of the same ethnic group/community/ nation.
