We are yellow. Indians however can't see that they are as black as africans for the most part. On Indian TV they choose actors with the lightest skin and ask them to represent India.

it is an objective look at the color of my skin. i'm light yellow in color, distinguished from whites by a healthy brown undertone beneath my skin and a lack of pasty pink.

many Indians have a skin color heirarchy in their minds already:

pure white is heighest, then derivatives of white, then yellows, then blacks. many Indians put themselves in the "white derivatives" category and have very strong racist feelings against blacks, even worse than European slave owners. naturally, they see themselves as inheritors of British Empire, and hold strong racist feelings against East Asians - those with yellow and light brown skin, who they do not see as "white derivatives", as even when our skin is very white, we have distinctive features that make us unmistakable for European whites.

Yellow is a neutral word. Many of us are more pale than some Europeans.

its true but our skin has a distinctive tone such that even when pale, we do not get the sickly pink color, animal like hair and coarse texture of Europeans, nor when dark, do not get the shining blackness of Africans, but rather a healthy, earthly brown.

Instead, we combine the best physical features of Africans with the best physical features of Europeans, and none of the bad.

The word 'forced' here does not mean via physical means but by contractual obligations. Basically, China is saying that if you want access you have to give up certain rights to your ideas.
