Tibetan highway,driving to Tibe

Some of my friends drive to Tibet once every couple of years from Beijing. It seems that road condition has been greatly improved every year. probably I would like to make that road trip too.and I don't know how bad the altitude sickness can be..that's what I'm kind of worried
