How would a JF-17 & Tejas go up against each other?
Whereas the JF-17 partial stealth capable?

Production: JF-17 production in 2009 was planned at 30 planes, while from 2010 it is planned to be at 40 planes per year at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.

JF-17 Planned upgrades: all PAF JF-17 jets will be modified to aerial refueling capable; Subsequent upgrades will be made on PAF JF-17 jets approximately every five years. Planned additions include:

Greater use of composite materials in the airframe to decrease weight.

Chinese Infra-Red Search and Track (IRST) system, possibly the Type Hongguang-I Electro-optical radar originally developed for the Chengdu J-10 fighter by Sichuan Changhong Electric Appliance Corporation. JF-17 is already compatible with this system but currently it must be carried externally in a pod mounted on one of the hard points.

New engine; most likely the Chinese WS-13 TianShan, although the PAF is considering fitting European power plants such as the French Snecma M88 to its aircraft.

Minor airframe modifications to reduce the aircraft's radar cross-section by adding stealthy features.

Pakistan had begun negotiations with British and Italian defense firms over potential avionics and radars for JF-17 during initial development. Some of the radar options for JF-17 are the Italian Galileo Avionica Grifo S7 and the French Thomson-CSF RC400 (a variant of the RDY-2), along with the MBDA MICA IR/RF short/medium range air-to-air missiles.

JF-17 Orders: Pakistan Air force will get total 275 JF-17 jets, According to Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmad of the PAF, the first JF-17 squadron will be inducted into the PAF fleet in the first quarter of 2009, The Azerbaijan Air Force has ordered 26 JF-17 jets from Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. PAC will deliver 6 JF-17 jets every year to Azerbaijan from 2010.
JF-17 Expected orders: Sri Lanka Air force 20 JF-17 jets, Bangladesh Air force 20 JF-17 jets, Egypt Air force 150 JF-17 jets, Malaysia Air force 40 JF-17 jets,
Indonesia Air force 10 JF-17 jets, Thailand Air force 40 JF-17 jets.

TOPR of JF-17 is way off its more than most people think. Way more.
Friend there are couple of threads on the following I am sure you can find them.

Do support your answer with some stuff which you think makes your tejas better!:what:

my idea of tejas being better is based on the fact that it is a 4.5th gen while jf17 is 4th gen. I dont know anything more. However a pakistani in this website itself gave a number of reasons on why Tejas has the upeer hand. Unfortunately I am not as knowledge based. my info on LCA comes from:

LCA - Light Combat Aircraft - India

i think we should wait for tejas to first be inducted into operational squadrons (expected now by year end or 2010) then we can get into it

I wonder how much DRDO actualy payed for this movie to Nat Geo. I believe its a3/4 yrs old programme and still no sign of lCAs flying in IAF colors let alone for navy.

JF-17 is in service and production,Tejas isnt we will compare when it gets into the IAF in '13.

JF-17 is just perfect for PAF's strategic needs.... after all they just are not going offensive against anyone; besides tejas has an different role all together...
i think mods should lock this thread before this goes ugly.

Tejas on paper is mid 4 generation fighter. I say on paper its yet to achieve IOC.

But that date seems to be getting closer .. The Aero india 2009 images OF TEJAS are the best yet with upto 5 planes partaking in displays formation flights. etc

The reasons though debated many times are listed blow

LCA has comopsites JF17 HAS NIL

LCA has israeli ELTA radar AESA JF17 has mechanical KLJ 7 from China

LCA has currently usa ENGINE JF17 has Russian rd93

LCA carries Israeli & Russian weapons JF17 CAN ONLY CARRY chinease weapons

OF COURSE BOTH PLANES are going to change alot with JF17 fan boys talking of block 2 without russian engine or chinease radar.

Probably one of the most pathetic attempt at comparisons Ive seen.

And this is probably the 1000th time this topic has been opened..

Wrong, JF-17 is designed to be integrated with Western, Chinese, Russian and of course Pakistani weapons. Compatible with Western databus architecture. Check the Pakistan aeronautical complex website for proof.

Actually, the JF haters talk of that stuff too.

Probably one of the most pathetic attempt at comparisons Ive seen.
There are some pretty horrendous ones out there.
