Three jawans killed, four injured in Naga ambush in Arunachal Pradesh

They want Independence from India as they are fed up with Indian gov corruption and abusive Indian military and police force.

Chinese talking about abusive military .... just roam any part of your country

The same thing that ISIS wants; power, money and madness.

They say they want a separate Nagaland but not just the current Nagaland; they want 80% of the entire NE under their goonda raj.

NSCN and IM (Isak Muivah not Indian Mujahideen :D) have a problem with Arunachal, Manipur and Assam as well.

See the number of clashes they have with neighbouring states.
Any external support?

I'm not from China or in China. China is a communist dictatorship. And India demonstrate failure of democracy. Is police brutality much worse in China vs India? Would an average foreigner would prefer to live in China vs India? I'm sure most would choose China over India today and in the near future. India need more development and social changes.

Ghaziabad, April 05:
Leaders from various political parties thronged the house of Sanjiv Kumar here who was among three soldiers of Rajput Regiment killed in a militant ambush in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh last Thursday.

Prominent among the visitors at Dhindar village in this district were Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Ajit Singh, union Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjiv Balyan and Bharatiya Janta Party state president L.K. Vajpayee.

Janta Dal (United) general Secretary K.C. Tyagi, condoling the martyr's family in the village, said the family suffered a double setback as its member Sanjiv Kumar, 40, was killed in an ambush and the family's crop was ruined in the recent hail storm.

The family, however, complained that no minister from Uttar Pradesh government bothered to visit them and condole their son's sacrifice for the country.

"No minister came to meet us from the Uttar Pradesh government. Of course, the district magistrate and the senior superintendent of police were present at the funeral as a protocol," Jagpal Singh, the martyr's father, said.

Three Jawans of the 4-Rajput Regiment were killed on the spot and four others were left seriously injured when suspected NSCN militants ambushed their vehicle at Khonsa of Tirap district in eastern Arunachal Pradesh early on Thursday morning.

Khonsa is about 530 kms east of the state capital, Itanagar.

The jawans were killed when a group of heavily armed militants ambushed them near Old Tupi village on the Khonsa-Longding road.

The security personnel were proceeding in a convoy of four vehicles from Khonsa to Longding when the ambush took place.

Old Tupi, a village about 20 km away from Khonsa, the district headquarters. The incident occurred on Thursday morning.

Local civil official sources said that the Rajput Regiment personnel who had left Lekhapani in Assam for Longding on Wednesday, stayed overnight at Khonsa and had moved out only at about 8 AM on Thursday when they were ambushed.

“The militants specifically targeted the last of the four vehicles, and all the casualties were reported in the fourth vehicle as the other three vehicles had already crossed the spot,” sources said.

Though the authorities have suspected it to be the handiwork of an NSCN faction, the identity of the group, however, is yet to be ascertained.

“Since both factions of the NSCN are active in the region, it is a Herculean task to ascertain the identity of the culprits,” they said.

AFSPA broadens, 12 Arunachal districts listed ‘disturbed’
Apr 07, 2015 00:05 IST

This is the first time in more than a decade that 12 of Arunachal Pradesh’s districts have been declared as disturbed areas.

The home ministry order of March 27 cited the presence of numerous insurgent groups along the Assam-Arunachal border, an insurgent group NDFB(S) setting up its headquarters in Myanmar’s Tago area and planning to smuggle arms through Arunachal and left-wing extremists trying to quietly infiltrate the state.

For years, only three districts of Tirap, Changlang and Longding – where Naga insurgents have been active – along with a 20km belt along the state’s borders with Assam, had been notified as disturbed areas.
