Civilians in Indian occupied territories should absolutely bear guns, knives and indeed any available means to facilitate self defence against multiple potential threats to life, property, liberty and dignity. Threats to the above arise from military and non-military sources alike. As more mainland Indians attempt to settle in Kashmir, I fully expect the Kashmiri people to bear arms and use them against violent would-be assailants from the mainland Indian civilian population, let alone the regime's occupation forces.
