Thread by request: Issues facing Pakistan and their potential solutions

isnt that due to cultural upbringing and failing ulema education system about religion? One can hardly find Islamic research centers in the country these days

Such failures are brought about by the enshrined requirements of the OR that religion be imposed as a matter of state, leading to the struggle to be the one authority to define what constitutes the precise dictates of religion according to one's own beliefs to the exclusion of everyone else's as the one true path. The death of diversity ensues, leading to imposition of a uniformity that simply cannot be created in any lasting manner given the underlying diversity of such a large country. The entire society self-destructs inevitably.

The solution is not more Islamic research. The only solution is to keep matters of state separate from matters of religion which should exist in the personal domain only.

Such questions are beyond the scope of this thread, which is specific to issues and solutions as I mentioned in the opening post. Pakistan is a large and complex country of over 220 million that is here to stay. Its rationale for existence is not in doubt and certainly not up for debate.

Again, that is not the scope of this thread.

. .
So the only scope of the thread is portraying Pakistanis as potential terrorist country because its foundation document talks about supremacy of religion in political thought?

No, as the title says, the scope is limited to discussing issues being faced by Pakistan and their potential solutions. Please feel free to create another thread on topics you wish to discuss.

Mass de-radicalisation program through Madressah reforms are enough of a statement of intent, don't you think if they are coupled with economic growth?

If either, or both, can be achieved effectively, then it would be a huge step forward is resolving many issues being faced currently. Statements of intent by themselves sound noble but do not mean much if not implemented, as we have seen many times before.

There are actual plans already set in motion for this. Patience has never been a virtue in Pakistan i see

. . .
and criticism with the advantage of hindsight is also not very noble

Let keep on track: I would contend that the presence of the Objectives Resolution led to the process of radicalization that we see today, and any plans to tackle it will not yield meaningful results as long as the OR remains in force.

In addition to the above, I also posted the following in the OP:

2. The Army continues to overreach in many areas beyond its legal mandate, leading to severe deleterious consequences for the country.

The above two are specifically worded, but the more general issues fall into four broad areas:

1. The collapsing economy.
2. The abysmal social development.
3. The utterly failed state institutions.
4. The adrift foreign and defense policies.

That is just a shot in the dark. Any proof that terrorists have used the objective resolution in their ideology?

The whole social edifice is built on the predicate that religious ideology must prevail over all matters of state. That alone gives everyone and anyone to proclaim their their own personal beliefs must prevail over all others. Just take a good look around Pakistan as a result (and PDF, for that matter).

Seems obvious as daylight, but dark for those with their eyes shut, of course.
