not sure about birmingham but there is no area in east london that does not have pubs because muslims live there. Some muslims might have opposed pub being opened next to a mosque or something like that. East london is dirty and rough looking because of poverty, but its not dangerous.

There is a Mosque in East Ham, underneath there was a retail store with sizeable income coming after selling wine and alcoholic products.

This phrase always comes to my mind when I remember about that mosque "neechay sharab khana ooper Allah ka Ghar".

That is because the mosque owned that land and that particular store was leased before they bought it so they were taking rent from that store and decided not to extend lease after it expires after 20 or so years. I believe last year it was expired and now there is 99p store instead of that popular franchise (forgot its name)

But it is true that East London is as safe as any part of London and contains as many pubs or even more as compared to rest of London. In fact most popular pubs and dancing clubs are located in Shoreditch and its surrounding areas that is also part of East London.

"Not dangerous" being a relative term, of course. Some people feel safe in Karachi too.

I can assure you its only dangerous in the sense that you might get mugged at night. Asians are the least violent of the people(unless they form a mob) and most muslims here are asian. A rough east end white woman with filthy mouth(you know the type) can scare the sh*t out of desis, I have seen it a few times.

Yeah you can think about it like that while sitting 6000 miles away in USA. Even my uncle says to me all the time that he would never travel to USA because it's not a safe country for Muslims and I ask him to take opinion of half million Pakistanis happily living over there

i am using mobile right now otherwise I would shown you the latest stats of crime rate around London and East London has one of the lowest crime rates in London barring Hackney and some E1 postcode area. South east is much worse compared to east side of London.

If we talk as a whole, statistically and historically most of the popular pubs have been located in East London and Central London neighbouring east side of London.

Brick lane is a gem of place, ideal for real estate tycoons who bought land to raise 30-100 floor building around that area. It has nothing to do with Muslims but let me assure you, despite that most of the pubs still exists around Brick Lane. Shoreditch and Liverpool Street are walking distance from Brick Lane, all famous for underground dancing clubs, even drugs is easily available and centuries old pubs. I can name some of them without googling if you say I have worked around that area for a few days and always driving to that area on car

When you talk about Waltham Forest as a whole, it has countless pubs but if you mean to say Muslim concentrated areas of Walthamstow and Chingford I would say again, the property value in those areas has been booming by 10-20% each year which means many people prefer to convert such pubs into 5 storey flats and double their income within 1-2 year so the real estate boom has reduced number of pubs from uk regardless of the local population's affiliation of faith and still these areas has pubs, just some of them no longer exists for the same reason that also applies in Norwich or Great Yarmouth, UK where you find Muslims on map.

Also the cultural pubs has reduced, it doesn't mean they do not exist, the also have been transforming their business into various new ventures such as hiring an office style building and opening a pub at middle floor but it really works for them.

the only place I recognize has 'muslim' problem is luton, bit far from london. Its bad because right wing extremism feeds extremism in muslims and vice versa. Its definitely not one sided.
