Airline is commercial venture and to run that they will approach OEMs like Airbus to provide the Aeroplanes...now dont tell me, Airbus will compel Airline to decide which engine they want for the Aeroplane manufactured by Airbus!! At the most, Airbus will respond to RFP with various options and the cost involved...dont try to fool youself by faking a fake theory that airline decides their engines hence airbus is least bothered about which engine is being used..!

Tell us straight forward - Does Airbus manufactures the engines required to fly its planes?

It can if the political will would be there. Development costs are very high so many are afraid to go that step. In the end its no magic.

You dont know how the business runs. It will amaze you that Airbus does not in any way sell the engines. Airbus sells teh airplane. The specific airplane can be used with specific engines which it is certified with. The airline choses the engine it wants and does a seperate contract with the engine manufactorer. Airbus does not in any way support any engine supplier over another. You can check this if you want. As i said im happy i could teach you something.

You guys can still buy from Russia if GE took this opportunity to hike the price tag.

Yep, France has probably sunk as technologically the weakest out of P5 nations.

- Its Barracuda class SSN isn't deployed yet, while China has already deployed several 9000 tons class Type 093B SSNs, it is better than the 688i and probably closer to the earliest block of the Virginia class.

- It doesn't have the core jet engine technology that equivalent to the F-110/AL-31/WS-10.

- Its M51 SLBM was not as successful as it touted to be, and now it is going back to the test stage in a water pool.

Problem is that France tries to make everything by itself and so cannot spend enough resources to ensure that all this tech is cutting edge.

Both Germany and Japan could have been at the cutting-edge of all military technologies if it was not for WW2, as they have the economies that will be able to fund the development of all the necessary technologies.

Unless Germany is prepared to open it's wallets, then EU military technology will end up not much better than Russia soon.

Airbus can buy US engines then as no EU country currently makes engines to power the vast majority of the fleet.

You are telling me that Rolls Royce Trent engine used in A380 is an american engine?

Britain has been the forefront of aviation technology development and many of the Boeing and Airbus innovations can trace back to British patents.

France doesn't have the resources to ensure everything they made are top notch.

They should try to be like the UK, to focus on some specific high-tech instead of trying to make everything.

I think France & Germany are the only two countries which are fully independent, and that is because of their technological advancement.


France is not as technologically advanced as US or UK. It's technology is always not as good whichever high-tech field you look at.

Germany has been castrated since WW2 and it will take many decades of effort for it to reach the top-level again.

Not much better? Russian armed countries can hold on their own compared to the bases that European countries need to make in their customer states to ensure that their technology doesn't get stolen or copied.

Maybe not the older engines. But if BREXIT doesn't open your eyes for a pan-European Unity, nothing will.

First of all.......The logic in this thread quite honestly, sucked........

He claim Airbus will not consider using RR engine anymore, then he go on and say Airbus is not an Airline and care the shit out of whichever engine they (The airline) use on their aircraft. Then he go on and claim it does not matter..........

What is the point to say airbus "PUNISH" UK or RR and then proceed to say both Airbus and RR care less about who get what engine??

Look, RR is bound to lose some business after leaving EU, EU Member will probably need to pay tax or other fee to use RR Engine, they can out of spike and go for GE or CMF or whatever that make those engine, but that is independent between Airbus, RR, Airlines and other Engine Manufacturer.

Both RR and Airbus don't really care what aircraft use which engine, because both RR and Airbus have more than one choice than the other. Hence it actually balance out the act.

Bear in mind, UK leaving EU will have economic impact, but talking about Airbus and RR is simply not the way to go.

By the way, my brother just got back from the UK and train under RR for the new Trend 1000 series engine,. FI that count anything?

These sore losers are threatening the UK when they rely on the UK for jet engines and they also sell more to UK than the other way round.:lol:
They are really angry & emotional right now seeing what's happened to their economies & the future of their EU .

By the way @UKBengali mate did u support Brexit? And will Brexit lead to any rise in racism,xenophobia or attacks on minorities as some of the BremaIN campaign claimed?
