"This is not your bloody area"

The Chinese army officer was trying to diffuse the situation, but the Indian officer was almost yelling. He should have responded to him politely.

Sir, I'd say he did a excellent Job..Because

1.First He came indside our territory to patrol.
2. For paroling Max only 10 persons allowed but he brought over a battalion.

If you go easy on them then the next day he'll do the same with two battalions.

He was really anxious, but it could have ruined the situation.

True, this could have been mistaken for aggression, especially given to the fact that the Chinese in this case at least, were not well-versed with the language. The Indian official was heard repeatedly asking why the Chinese had brought 'so much force' when the patrolling can be done with 10-20 men, which is the norm there. He was probably thinking that,if the PLA contingent somehow decided to attack,he would be in a thoroughly precarious situation, because the Indian unit was clearly outnumbered by a significant extent. That's why I'm saying this that where many are seeing aggressiveness,I see only anxiousness. But that doesn't make your point void.

Yes India should remember 1962 in the sense not to neglect its borders and defense preparedness.

......and also, to remember not to mess with those who can slap you in a jiffy. The conventional military balance between India and China has increased manifold in China's favor. They are more than well equipped and stocked to handle India today or tomorrow.

The Chinese officer wasn't yelling,Indian was.He was yelling as if Chinese was about to attack his battalion.

Exactly, the Chinese soldiers were being polite and professional. The Indian soldiers were screaming their heads off.

It's obvious from the video, that it was the vastly weaker Indian side that was being belligerent.

The filming must act as a peacekeeper. No one wants to throw the first punch in front of 10 cellphones.
I predict this china india border situation will be sorted out in the next 10 years. Both China and India have come to suitable arrangements with other neighbors and Both countries are more interested in business no reason why this can't be sorted out esp. once the bilateral trade gets sufficiently deep.

This is your fantasy and trolling nothing to do with reality !

He was MUCH younger than the Chinese counterparts.

The Chinese No. 2 with the big gut looked like a typical ASC saab. :p:

Oh really??Have you ever visited that god forsaken piece of land we now call LAC,that you are passing your judgments with such authority as if you are some sort of expert in this regard??

When you bring a fuckking battalion for patrolling, that's the type of behavior you will receive. And if you had an iota of sense or intellect, you would have easily found out that the Indian officer was not at all acting belligerent, rather he was acting anxiously,as if under some pressure. And why he wouldn't be,after all his men were outnumbered by a significant margin, anyone would have felt the heat and the adrenaline rush makes it too hard to act 'calmly' in a such a situation.Sure,he could have handled it differently, but then again,he was all but an young officer and definitely not a very experienced one.

If we had built the hut, we would be saying sir. The only thing China recognizes is strength. The communication needs to be clear, you build hut, we break.

China is much powerful than india - check.

China has better infrastructure to move troops, heavy weapons and can move em fast as compared to india. - Check.

China has heavy presence and more troops and weapons in tht area. - Check

indian fanboys fuelled by jingoism - double check.

@Argon Prime @third eye

Looking at the numbers, supposed things went bad, and shooting started, and God forbid all Indians (outnumbered) get killed.

How long before those behind get to know?
Well,if the Indian patrol party could inform the ones in back before getting eliminated, then of course, they would have found out what had happened instantly. But if they were to be eliminated before they had a chance to pass the news on to the rear areas, then it could have taken somewhat longer.

How much inside, and in what numbers can the Chinese push in the interim?
Well, the PLA detachment was somewhat big but still,in no where near as big or as heavily armed to have been able to come too far inside. And besides, since they were armed with just their personal weapons and limited ammo,I doubt it very much whether they would chose to venture farther inside Indian territory and then face the Indian forces foaming in their mouths and dying to get even. :D

Brother did you see how that Indian officer was screaming his head off in that video?

Like he is desperately looking for a fight, but afraid to actually start one.

These are the types of people who are going to start a border conflict which will turn into another war. And its all on video, so everyone will know who fired the first shot.
