Third Canadian detained in China as diplomatic feud escalates

But if we look at it deeply...how much longer will the US dictate to the rest of the world when to jump or how high they must jump

Dunno, there are more and more countries that is already tired with how US use their USD as weapon for their political struggle. Something that they shouldn't do.

So maybe there will be new international currency that will replace USD. Maybe it is RMB, but maybe it is a new type of international money that can be accepted by everyone.

The US and Canada set a brand new precedent, whereby business executives can be kidnapped to improve trade deal negotiations.

Expect more of this in the future. This is barely scratching the surface.
What other choice did Canada have, you think Canada doesnt know Trump did this?

lovin it , Good Job China :china:
And you are hoping to move to the US. when your loyalties are clearly not American.

This action will freak out all Canadians in China, to be sure. And also to freak out Chinese people who migrated to Canada. Specially the rich Chinese like Meng. Because they can be targeted by Canadian, just like Meng. So it is a good thing for China.
Canada is too civilized a country to needlessly arrest its residents. This arrest was in response to a US warrant, and Canada has to comply as they are signatories to the Long arm Judicial Agreement with the US.

That's true, the US abused their extradition treaty with Canada (not in good faith), and then Donald Trump slapped Canada down when they tried to claim it was purely an issue of law and order. By saying that the arrest of Meng was a "bargaining chip" in the trade war negotiations.

However at the same time China doesn't have a choice either. You can't just kidnap business executives for trade benefits. Canada is going to learn the hard way about the pitfalls of handing over their sovereignty to the USA.

Every move has its motivations. There is no "has to" in this case. Because Canada had choice. Not doing it is a choice even there is a treaty. Of course there would be a consequence with America if they chose to stay put. But they did know there would also be a serious consequence if otherwise. Canada must have evaluated its gain and loss in advance. Let see if Canada made a good mathematics or not.

I don't believe Canada is a country that would renenge on a treaty. They will comply.

Extradition law are never unconditional. It first require the accused crime to be an offense in Canadian law as well, and Canada had turned down US expedition requests before for much less. Furthermore, even after the court hearing, it is entirely to the discretionary of the executive office to decide whether to proceed with the extradition. So the Canadian government can't hide behind the extradition treaty and plead non-culpability.

Stop this "rule of law" bull. Nobody is going to believe you. Including most Canadians.

The whole world knows what's going on.
