Misplaced priorities of people of all walks of life. The people don't have a realistic outlook on the problems in Sri Lanka and a genuine interest to industrialise the country. The portion of the blame lays on the politician who are only there to win elections, therefore will do anything to please the public whether it serves the interest of the country or not and the educated /upper class who I believe has a responsibility to address the problems in the country with a logical point of view but the reality is that their opinions are out of touch with reality. I can't stand seeing SL in this state.

Religion- It should be banned in public. In private-worship what you want. But no festivals, no azaans, no firecrackers, no ganesha immersions. How much money is wasted and how much pollution in a festival like Diwali? Religion justifies all this nonsense. Ban Public display of religion.

Stalin didn't kill in the name of atheism. I'm not even an atheist but lol at your comment.

In one way he did, he led a non religious government which suppressed peoples right to practice their faiths, destroyed and closed down churches and mosques. We can still see the effect of this brutality on Russian society. Starved millions of people to death, expelled native people from their lands to Siberia.

I won't worship anything or anyone. I don't need an imaginary friend and I don't believe in stupid ideas like heaven or hell. Once you are dead- it is over. I can't think of a single redeeming quality of religion- save as a means of imposing order in society. It has always existed to serve the interests of a few, and brainwash the rest. Once you are conditioned to believe this nonsense from childhood, rest is easy.
