These kinds of news fire my imagination and hope that I can see these within my life span. Specially in the No.1 project NASA should ask all to cooperate (If 100 brains work instead of 10 brains then chances of success will be higher, keeping aside ego). "And too many cooks spoils the broth" cannot be applied here.

@thesolar65 @Star Wars creating warp drive not easy but lets say they create it in few years than u me and u all wont be alive to see the result.... Warp drive use warmhole technology. So if humans decideds to travel andromeda galaxy than it will take few minutes to reach.... If they decides to come back next day than around 100years will be passed by.... Yes when anyone use warmhole technology than even whe he spend a day out in space through warmhole the time wont be same for humans on earth. Its called time traveling.... Gods left all clues for humans to progress bit by bit. They made microchip in sun moon pyramid. They made time traveling yantra in tibet. They also left vimana clues in hindu bible and mahabharata (ufo). NASA working on every clue. Gods even left mars for humans when earth gets too close to sun by 2050. NASA should work building bases on mars instead of warp drive technology. Reaching mars important. When earth gets too close to sun than mars will get more sunlight and life will start on mars. Just like venus use to have life. Venus got too close to sun. So earth came alive. And now after earth the mars will come alive.... Its all planned. God made the blue prints.

My apologies, I should have clarified. I have taken some courses involving Theoretical & Astrophysics. it's however not my current major at school though. I study warp capability purely as an enthusiastic amatuer.

I personally believe it to be within the realm of possibility. The energy requirements are just so massive though.

While others are fine, the point 5 is been deemed impossible by some prominent scientist. I know Mr Hawkins said that warp is the feasible way for time travel. I will come back with some points later though.

But isnt mars a red planet, whats your take on that?

3D printer to print mechanical objects and spare parts is a reality. They will manage that for sure (it's VERY important for long term space presence. I don't know if a 3D printer for food is necessary. They package all kinds of food for space travel nowadays.

Errrrr......my opinion will be pretty dilettantish compared to others here.
But hey human beings are the most ambitious species.....so I would not be surprised even if by 2050 we start going on short vacations to moon and mars...then the trip will be called "around the planets in 8 dollars" ...I guess RK had made a movie with a similar name.
