In an interview, Pakistan’s National Security Advisor has at least two or three times said that the window of hope and expectation in India-Pakistan relations, that opened in February with the reconfirmation of the 2003 ceasefire, “is perhaps still there” provided India is willing to create a conducive environment. Dr Mooed Yusuf said this in an interview where he also claimed that Pakistan has “concrete evidence and intelligence” connecting the recent Lahore bomb blast outside Hafiz Saeed’s residence to handlers and masterminds in India, which Pakistan will make public in a dossier “at the right time.”

The last 15 minutes are on the developing situation in Afghanistan and whether Pakistan will recognise a Taliban government formed after a military take over of the country. Dr Yusuf says Pakistan “will do what the rest of the world does”. Asked if Pakistan would welcome a Taliban government, he initially says “No” but then adds it has “no favourites” and it’s for the Afghan people to choose their government.

Doors are always open even if PM Khan refuses to even acknowledge Indian FM

Speaks volume of Pakistan foreign policy that we awaited for decades to happen. It should have been achieved long ago but alas we had the crooks at top and helm of affairs. Bravo.

.
I watched it,.
it was a very informative interview. I give credit to Tharparkar too who managed to conclude the interview although Moeed dominated him.
there were few tu tu may may and defensive reactions my Indian host but that is understandable. he has to keep his patriotic Indian credentials intact.

A well educated person with the right exposure and background makes all the difference. Compare that to the majority of buffoons leading foreign policy from the inception. If you can have people with similar levels of qualifications and exposure as Dr. Moeed in all the various ministries of the state, the situation will change rapidly.

Unfortunately, we will have the usual actors decrying the good Dr. and the current setbacks as related to him but when the general ground situation has buffoons being led by buffoons or stopped by other political buffoons then their whines are pretty much that - whines.
Bufoonistan needs to realize they collectively are the problem and not this individual or that individual.

Riyasat-e-Madina wasn’t just the Prophet(Pbuh) but Hazrat Abu Bakr - an honest businessman and negotiator, Hazrat Umer(strategist and orator), Hazrat Usman(businessman who knew wealth management ), Hazrat Ali( negotiator, strategist) and then all the other companions who were not just good men but also learned in their particular skills and advice for that time.

The current government nor other state setup reflects this so those buffoonistanis hoping for miracles should try and make those changes in their daily interactions and standing up to their own corrupt practices before wanting everything like Bani Israel on a plate.

10 minutes into the discussion and Moeed Yusuf started sounding like a teenage girl with a long Wishlist for her life..

he has a lot of so called demands, preconditions and request to Indian before getting into a dialogue for any issue.. what if India's response is a single word answer "no" .. what will he do? fight india ? complain to others? curse india ? or wait for another few decades hoping that the demands may be accepted sometime in distant future ...

all his tough stances are for Internal consumption by Pakistanis. will be surprised if he is even entertained by anyone from other side of the border ..

Real diplomacy main khairat nahi baate hain

To tell you something I know from my pak connection visiting the same lobbies as pak NSA, many people are pissed at this guy for getting a parachute straight to NSA.
This guy is having duel passports nothing out of ordinary in pakistan but this guy was basically out of establishment corridors and pretty young, many ppl keep on harping on him as they thought they were in better position to become diplomatic PR person for pak deep state.
One cant compare NSA positions in India and pak, Indian NSA is one of the pillars of Indian regime policies, Pak NSA is more like a PR item.
Not sure this interview will even be analysed by MEA babus.

Looks like the He stepped o your pain nerve, btw It was india who approached Pakistan for the dialogue, not the other way round that means the single word "no" would only be a failure for India as it would make it lose the opportunity to achieve whatever it was hoping to achieve from the dialogue.

Pakistan di not initiate the dialogue and by putting pre-condition to the dialogue made sure that it was neither wasting time in pointless dialogue nor giving an opportunity to the lying indians to pretend that they were making efforts for peace, which they were not and they proved it by saying a single word "no".

so who is the loser?

Karen Thaper is pretty balanced journalist. I think NSA moeed Yousef went into little overdrive on him.

You don’t see their NSA giving out hour long interviews to Pakistani channels. Why are Pakistani PM and NSA giving out interviews spots to their channels.

Pakistan NSA Job title and Job profile is very different.
I am sure even sm1 asks him he will tell the same seems like he is on PR drive nowadays.
Indian Govt is stuck in own web in domestic affairs and dont want to entertain Pak Civil Govt which sounds more and more like Indian opposition cabal.

if it is India who approached for the dialogue, they why all the noise is coming from Pakistan?

Not even a clerk made a comment on from the Indian side, leave apart the higher ups .. if wishful thinking and Pakistani statements could have unnerved India, then we would had been rocked by the high pitch emotional speech by Bhutto in UNGA in 1971.. in real politics, statements and comments without real leverage is equal to begging

To be fair, India doesn’t have anyone of his caliber. He is a accomplished think tank and a policy maker. Likes of Ajit Doval don’t even come close. He bring in the knowledge of international system and western mindset that is usually lacking in Pakistan policy makers. Otherwise Pakistan is no short of field operatives like Ajit Doval.
