They would prefer to ally with someone else, Mufti was saying that too, he said ideologically BJP and PDP are different but he didnt rule it out completely, saying "but sometimes we must make hard choices"...it all depends upon how talks go between various parties.

Either way, I think art 370 will not go this term?

Nope A370 will remain, unless until PDP supports BJP in this.

I think it's going to be PDP BJP alliance. Or a Hung Assembly. Because be it congress, NC or whosoever , they will act as a barrier to PDP's work during the term and PDP would not want themselves to be threatened. Let's see what comes out.

Actually BJP is preferred as an ally as compared to Congress, because it is seen as a stable partner, whereas Congress has a history of causing trouble midstream. Both JKNC and JKPDP have experience of this.
If the way of talking of JKPDP leaders was seen, and also reaction of Congress leaders, it is very clear that JKPDP+BJP government is going to come in the state.

The congress party spokesman started calling the BJP+JKPDP alliance as unholy alliance and other names. Severely frustrated that guy was.

OK interview with Omar abdullah shows he is going to sit in opposition. He is pissed at Congress and hates JKPDP.
Only option left for him is BJP and he is not very keen on that.


Of the 3 independents one is BJP rebel who may join BJP given a post, one is JKNC supported, so may go with them. One from ladakh can go anywhere.


Sajjad lone won't support JKPDP or JKNC, but may support BJP given post.
CPIM guy won't support BJP but can support JKPDP.


So realistic possibility

3 BJP+JKNC+JKPC+other


Going by statement of spokespersons 1 looks most likely

A few things Wani Saab of JKPDP said were really nice

2 central government needs to be credited for a fair and transparent election.

That is really saying a lot for a region marred with frequent ethnic-religious-political conflicts, terrorism and a general mistrust towards Indian State! Hats off to Election Commission of India, one of the cleanest and most efficient organ of the Indian State!!!

Not intending to troll or go off-topic, but it is even more impressive considering the situation in Pakistan where main political parties can't agree on authenticity of the results even in National elections. It is a real testament to the acceptance of Indian Systems put in place long ago, that have started to bear fruits today.

Mufti is a cunning little man, expect a PDP, BJP alliance. Ideological differences can be easily paved and one can hope Modi shows the flexibility ABV did.

The 370 talk is only for nationalist consumption and will never go. BJP knows this as well as Ramjethmalani.
