At least 10 people are dead after a 17-year-old student allegedly opened fire at Santa Fe High School in Texas this morning, sending students fleeing for their lives, the governor said.

Ten others were wounded, including a police officer who is in critical condition, officials said.
A teacher is among the dead, according to law enforcement officials.

Gov. Greg Abbott called the shooting "one of the most heinous attacks that we've ever seen in the history of Texas schools."

At the Santa Fe Police Department, Pagourtzis gave a statement admitting to shooting multiple people inside the school with the intent of killing people, according to an probable cause affidavit.

Pagourtzis also allegedly stated during the interview that he did not shoot students he liked "so he could have his story told," the affidavit states.

There were no warning signs and the suspect doesn't have a criminal history, officials said.

What kind of radicalization is happening is us society is beyond me.
Who can kill young children in schools.
They give lecture about terrorism all over the world. But look at their own house.
They must keep their house in order and keep their children safe.
This happened nth time on just few months. It is beyond me.
Is there anyone who would stand up for the right of ordinary American people and force their government to ban weapons.

It could happen anywhere in the world. Spoilt kids with access to weapons and a whatever reason to choose from and a 50/50 decision to make. It's capitalism gone extreme.

Stupid gun laws in some states. They'll never learn.

It took one mass children massacre in a settled area to shake Pak establishment's conscience which lead to radical steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents. These people don't seem to have a conscience, they always have a utilitarian bent when discussing massacres/tortures/anything.. If guns are banned that's one less thing to sell which is a no no for them.

I am not sure which place is safer, the US or Iraq/Syria.

If you think this is as bad as a war zone, then I would suggest you should never be in an actual warzone. It's completely different. I have been there, it's nothing like school shooting.

And god help China if they send people like you to war, most likely you guys gonna kill yourselves before you can actually go down fighting.

Strangely, nobody here ever mentioned a mass shooting here in Australia a week ago back in Margaret River when a grandfather shot and kill his wife, his daughter and his daughter 4 children, then himself, so 7 people died in Margaret River just a week ago.

Gun crime can happen anywhere in the world, people who are nuts about it would do it, whether or not gun control law in effect or not (Gun are VERY TIGHTLY CONTROL in Australia, you are not even allow to own a BB gun).

The bottom line of the problem is mental health care, a normal person will not decided to go kill a bunch of people one day, people who kill in this number most likely have some degree of mental issue. If these kept uncheck, then these people will become homicidal, and whether or not using gun to kill is beside the point, if I meant to kill people, even if I do not have access to firearms, I would still be able to kill a lot of people using stuff ranging from Cars, Knife or even poison gas (you can make poison gas from household ingredient)

Its not just the gun laws. There is something wrong with the whole of society. Think about it. These aren't outlier incidents. What the hell is going on?

Mental issue play a major role in all these shooting.

You can forbid people to own gun, but you can't forbid people to go crazy, and once a person suffer with mental problem, and it left unchecked, they will do stupid thing like this.

Whether or not they have access to weapon is beside the point, if I don't kill by firearms, I could as easily kill by knife, automotive or even explosive or chemical.

In my opinion, US need to revamp their mental health care system.

Visisted the war remnants museum in Saigon yesterday.
Everyone should visits to see how nasty the American people are. I was so disgusted and angry. The lies told to the people at that time are the same lies told to the people for Iraq and Syria. America must be fought and lessons taken from the Vietnamese.

The entire degradation of societal fabric & culture, that's what's going on:
- Increased isolation of individuals & cultural/political division
- Increased dependency on social media and bullshit like that
- Inability to cope with personal or interpersonal conflict
- Complete disregard of others and basic rules of society
- Inability of individuals to take responsibility for their own actions

And so forth. Gun laws only scratch the surface of an issue that runs deep & wide, the core of which still largely remain ignored and untouched by lawmakers & policymakers.

Vietnam from the Vietnamese prospective is very different from the American version. Poor people who fought for their country against a nation that killed kids without mercy
