The United States Faces Irreparable Damage in a Cold or Hot Conventional War with China and its Alli

If QUAD is successful in countering China then China will have to forgo it's global ambitions and will be forced to focus on regional dominance only. Meaning India will be left with a spiteful dragon as it's neighbor. It's kind of like a win win for us. Unless of course Tibet secedes from China and a buffer is created (unlikely).
You might want to look at China actions towards India after India signed Indo-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation

Read upon Chinese response during 71 war and Indian Integration of Sikkim in 1975

Hint: it wasn't aggressive one

I'm sorry, I don't see the your analogy as relevant as I was talking about a hypothetical situation in which China is contained by QUAD successfully (unlikely) and is now in a vengeful state.

China had chosen appeasement policy towards India when a military alliance between India and Soviet Union emerged rather than picking fights on two fronts

Yes an appeasement policy is ambushing Indian patrols in 1967 and 1975 and continually building up infrastructure along the LAC.

Two things come to mind.
a) China was a soft power in the past. That is not true today.
b) If China is defeated by QUAD of which India is a member then India will be left with a vengeful neighbor. You cannot change your neighbors unfortunately.

Also,
Merely forming an alliance and playing a pivotal role in its success are two different things.

China never had soft power to begin with ... 10 years ago, the only things we heard about were cheap Chinese knockoffs and Tibetan repression and the Great Firewall. China has all but given up on soft power and is exclusively focusing on hard power (i.e. military buildup).

Chinese were way more aggressive, directly got into wars and overtly supported Communist insurgencies back then unlike today

Define defeat of China

QUAD is only going to limit PLAN activity in the region for now

Also

Agreed

Agreed
How is QUAD going to limit Chinese naval activity? Please explain. AFAIK, the Chinese can still exercise anywhere they want as long as they are not in territorial waters. The QUAD at most will only be there to counter Chinese naval presence, not limit it.

Lol! Treaty with the Soviets was signed in 1971

Abandoning Pakistan in 1971 and not retaliating to Indian integration of Sikkim is aggression by China ;)

Recently Chinese have been accused of supplying weapons via Myanmar to Indian seven sister state insurgents. Also, don't forget the Galwan clash.
