1. ships hijacked are being covered by the Insurance companies , the crew the material on board and the ship itself ???.... is that no loss to insurance companies??

2. have insurance companies become such big enough to act like a country to carry out such a huge mission like activity ... I think CIA or any intelligence agency would have such capacity not an insurance company

3. And the Ship owners are not aware of this ??

Probably some shipping company guy came up with this.

An Insurance company guy will come up with: Shipowners with old ships and low value cargo want their ships to be hijacked so that they can get full insurance amount. So shipowners are funding the piracy.

for your info general shipping insurance dies not cover piracy and terrorism....
additional insurance is to be bought for these... even then the general insurance for shipping has gone up...
so its a win win situation for insurers

if they can invest in blood diamonds....investing in pirates is nothing big.

point one is reasonable, I dont know how they manage their cost and revenue game, but surely there are ways to get it done,

There are 51 large groups of pirates currently operating from Somalia..The idea of creating a pirate infested sea zone was originally a commercial idea hatched up by shipping insurance companies such as lloyds.
The pirates are Somali gangsters paid for by consortium of shipping insurance companies..The net result is that the piracy threat gives them a valid reason to sky rocket the insurance premiums.
Ships going to war zones are considered high risk and pay additional premium but there aren't many war zones in the world..Iraq has been there for some time but not many ships go there.
A radical idea was needed,and creating a high risk area for shipping slap bang in the middle of one of the world's busiest shipping route was one hell of an idea.Somalia sits at the mouth of Red sea and all ships crossing the Suez canal have to pass the area..That accounts for more than 70 percent of the worlds shipping traffic.
Now insurance companies are basking in success.Their premiums doubled and in some cases tripled,and as a result ship owners charge more in freight as they have to make profit..This eventually increases the transport cost of pretty much everything.As a result this made up piracy is one of the major contributing factor towards prices of everything.

I guess u forgot to mention , who run these insurance companies.......Yes! the JEWS.......everybody shold know the smart mind behind all destruction stuff and killingz.....

Yes! CIA is also playing its part...supplying arms/equipments and training to the pirates......everything is so well coordinated......

hi.
i posted a world shipping traffic map in this thread? did you look at it?
the route off the somali coast is world's second busiest...with more than 5000 ships going from suez to far east and back and manu other routes converging in the samecarea..making the total shipping traffic in the range of 10,000 ships per year....and how mang of these were actually harmed by pirates? less than 100 a year?
but insurance premium has risen for all the ships crossing the area....
thee is a huge difference between what the insurers are paying out in damages and what they are gaining from it.

I once read somewhere that Somali piracy ends up helping fishermen who live on the coastline of the countries on and around the horn of africa. Before the rise in piracy, foreign ships, many of which were from Japan and Korea were catching the fish off the coastline so that the African fishermen couldn't get them. I believe it also indicated that many of the pirates were former fisherman who had been affected by the practice.
