Diesel was born in California along with twin brother, Paul. While his father’s identity remains unknown and anonymous to him, his mother is an astrologer. Diesel grew up in New York City and made his acting debut by performing on a stage and continued his theatrical acting after that. In his teen years, he performed in instructional videos on breakdancing. He was 17 and was working at a night club as a bouncer when he decided to change his name to Vin Diesel. His original name was Mark Sinclair Vincent. He attended Hunter College but was dropped out later to head to Hollywood.
His journey in film acting started in 1990 when he performed in a movie called Awakenings. He was a telemarketer prior to that. He subsequently wrote, produced and directed a short film Multi-facial and starred in it as well when he was merely 26. The movie was also screened at Cannes Film festival. He continued to do remarkable roles and proved his phenomenal acting skills and even starred in Steven Spielberg’s Oscar nominated movie-Saving Private Ryan.
