The Arab revolt against Ottoman empire was due to greed and Arab nationalism not Wahabi ism.
At the time Ottoman empire had already weakened and on the verge of collapse due to losses in WW1.
Plus the version of "Caliph' on the throne had not much to do with Islam anyway and was a ceremonial title.

What was started by Ghazi Ertugrul as a pure and brave movement to revive Islam and save Muslims from Bazentine and Mongols and to unite Muslims under one flag, in later centuries was just lavish life styles, palaces and not much of Islam.
