This is one of the stupidest criticisms to us non-Muslims.

Why should we care to know the exact meaning and context of jihad ? We are non-Muslims, remember ? So if we are non-Muslims, we would not be practicing ANY interpretations of jihad, correct ? If there is a correct interpretation of jihad, it would not matter to us anyway, again, simply because we are non-Muslims.

Criticizing us for being ignorant of what is the true meaning and context of jihad is deliberately ignoring the problem in your own community of those who have their own interpretation of jihad and live with those interpretation. It makes you feel better about yourself without doing anything of substance.

It is not you (you are a Vietnamese, and a naturalized American citizen and probably a convert, so please don't take it to your heart), it is the humiliation of crusades speaking that enemies of Muslims and Islam had to endure in the hands of the Muslims. Nobody is interested in teaching you about Islam but trying (of-course unnecessarily) to argue with you that what you call Jihad is in effect militancy for Jihad in Islam has a very different meanings.

second line not for you plus it meant those who are unarmed regardless of there age should not be hurt.
WTH are you talking about no one was killed when they surrendered,it was sort of like a rule followed by caliphs,i suggest you read the actual story,or is it one of those things you heard?

No one has the time or inclination to read holy books of anothers religion , they would do well to read their own holy books - which most don't.

See, a large number of followers do not seem to follow the rule of war laid down by the Caliph , they remain only ' on paper'.

Yes you are right most of the followers and these so called jihadis are not even aware of the limits and rules set forth by islam. And when they do things which is permitted by islam then such acts are considered as the part of islam by others who don't even know what islam is. So basically by spreading an awareness about the real teachings of Islam, it will be beneficial for us and it will also be helpful in eradicating extremist and terrorism.

I am sorry if my post is offensive for you. But I am not actually criticizing or looking down upon others or even asking you to learn islam rather I am merely telling what others have perception about us and what is the real reason behind the terrorism.
People thinks all those who are extremist and killing people are actually doing a jihad and following the injunctions of islam, which is actually not true. And this small conceptions lead people to fell into their hands and evil goals.

And then by the acts of these few people, people use to make conception regarding islam and all Muslims. And they starts to frame islam as an extremist and relate all Muslims to these blood thirsty terrorists. This is actually the main problem. And that's the sole reason why the terrorists are not even near of being eradicating. And also the outcomes of such wrong perceptions leads to the immense hatred for Muslims in the world.

And again I am Not asking you to learn our religion but instead I am telling what should we Muslims needs to do to tackle terrorism and growing hatred against Muslims. If we are to solve this problem then we simply needs to spread and give awareness to others about the real teachings of Islam then we can surely be able to tone down terrorism from this blue planet.

Correct...That is because they are too busy living the rules of their own religions. The only people who truly can afford the time to study other religions are scholars. That means it is outright stupid to criticize people who wrongfully interprets, for any and many reasons, principles and beliefs of other religions.

Look this is the real problem, people have now developed the wrong perceptions about these terrorists that they are in the right path and following what is being taught in Islam. And I agree to your point of view that this is solely because of the fact that they are completely void of from the real teachings of Islam.

If we spread the awareness and true teachings of Islam then we can surely bring down not only the terrorists but also the growing hatred against Muslims.

mostly people here do not want to understand they just want to debate and demean the religion. Nor do many people know the etiquette of debates when it comes to religion. but okay if you think it is a wise move please remember to remain calm and respect whatever anyone says.
