The Rise Of Pakistan's 'burger' Generation

I understand the criticism of being materialistic, but having an accent?

Yeh iss forum ka wo bacha hay jo her aik pay bachpan may issay toffian dainay ka ilzam lagata hay. C.K.D hai yeh.

being materialistic is not a nice things, but it's a step in modernity.
When America was modernizing they called it "Keep up with the Jones"
China, Korea, Japan, all countries that have modernized, go through this.

It's just a phase, once Pakistan modernizes, this will be less of an issue.

Shouldn't that be spelt Burgher

Full Definition of burgher
  1. 1: an inhabitant of a borough or a town

  2. 2: a member of the middle class : a prosperous solid citizen
But that word burgher nowadays is usually used for Sri Lankans with European (usually Portuguese) heritage.
@Gibbs

I don't think the Pakistani burger and burgher are related. In fact if you read the full article in the OP the writer claims that the Pakistani version owes its origins to the first Pakistani Burger outlet Mr. Burger which started doing business in the early 1980s.
