The more distance these armed groups have from politics the more effective they become. PMU's heavy ties to political groups is bad and should be treated as well, they happen to be closely linked to pro-IRGC political parties in Iraq which is bad indeed.

The anger of these citizens is well placed. Iran have fully injected its tentacles in iraq and habe destroyed it. The role of iran is evident from these protests. No agent will protest so harshly, when 30 to 50 killed each day and ppl still not stopping. The funny part is its the iraqi shias that are protesting against iran lolzz how is iran blaming this on saudi or US??? Did they brainwash shias??

Maybe protests these days are just a regional phenomenon. There are have been protests in almost all Middle eastern countries recently or in the past few years, so when Iran faces its own protests, its time to talk of "injecting tentacles "?? If we think about the effects of and frustrations from the sanctions, we can see that these protests arent that surprising. It does seem the protests have fizzled out in Iran, vs the ones in Iraq which are still ongoing.

A Muslim will not kneel to anyone except Allah, not for Ayatullah or any Monarch or Dictator , even if Arab leadership falls under the boots of Persians, their people will never accept you or anyone as their masters, why you think even America has hard time controlling the Arabs ? ?
It would be best for the region if Iran and KSA comes to negotiate and talk things out, even Germany and France were once bitter enemies and look at them now .. if they can do it so can we , its not hard ..Pakistan can mediate between the two Islamic countries , but both countries and its leadership needs to be serious ,and let go of Past and stop any proxy wars they are supporting against the other .

Good points made. Main issue now i guess is that Saudis cant come to the negotiating table ALONE or make decisions that affect only themselves. They have entangled commitments across different continents. Plus, Saudis are militarily weaker, so them coming alone is a disadvantage for them, which makes not having these talks the reasonable option for that reality. I hate to say this, but IMO, Trump actually unleashed the Iranian genie by testing Iran's patience, and when Iran reacted militarily, he backed off,(he did this 2 or 3 times) and i believe that is a very costly precedent for a US president to set with an adversary like Iran.

the political establishment is giving a bad name to Iran, the best thing Iran can do is distance itself from the corrupt politicians, Iraqi politicians have absolutely no idea what's going in there own country, it's actually quite miraculous for them to be this detached from reality.

this should be a lesson to all politicians not just in Iraq but in all other countries:- always be in touch with your people, not only by having dozens of advisors from the general public (especially the youth) but also by having inteligence agencies monitor public sentiment to figure out what are the issues the people want to be fixed.

some members here suggested that "Zionists" are behind the protests to try to topple the "government" (if we can call it that), well I say forget about the Zionists, even if Iblis himself want's to topple the establishment then the sooner he succeedes the better.

I've said it before & I'll say it again, I'm all for the axis of resistance, but if keeping this axis means the politicians will continue stealing money from the state to build mega malls for themselves then that axis should be thrown out of the window, you know what they say "غلطة الشاطر بألف" or in english I guess it's "the mistake of the clever equalls a thousand [mistake]", if the rumors of the Iranian leadership guiding the green zone to crack down on the protests is true then that a catastrophic miscalculation , because that is practicaly telling the Iraqi people "we are the enemy".

Well i partially agree, but if KSA is negotiating a peace deal with Tehran than i would recommend them to bring other GCC into the fold as well, We don't want this to happen that KSA and Iran are trying to improve Ties while some other GCC or Shia majority are intensifying their rivalries . It has to be a Over all Peace, GCC with Persian gulf , Sunni and Shia peace, Arab and Persian peace ..

True that KSA subscribe to US and its allies policy rather than having an independent one, but KSA needs to understand, America is in this region as long as its interest lies there , when their interest moves to another region they will abandon KSA in a heart beat ( Ref : See how they Abandoned Pakistan after Soviet Withdrawal ) . But I disagree that KSA is militarily weak, Look i don't want to get into Iran vs KSA military battle , both countries have satisfying capabilities against each other, Iran enjoys a massive experience in building BM/CM and SAM's , while KSA has modern Air Force and resources to fight war for longer period . Plus KSA wont be going to war alone if it ever comes to that, other GCC nation might come to their aid same with Iran .

Look Trump is not a decisive Leader, he has much to worry about back home than he does in ME , What I believe that Trump has no clue about what's happening in Iran or ME in General, his administration/Deep State/Establishment whatever you want to call it is handling and making these decisions ( IMO: Without even informing the President ) , For KSA and GCC they will only gain from Peace with Iran and the other way around , If I think as a Iranian, if their KSA/GCC border is secured than they can focus on Palestine , Israel and Kicking ISIS out of the Syria . The reason why both countries are not even coming towards a peace deal is beyond me, Same west who put Gasoline on Shia Sunni divide was once at each others throats now they live in peace with their former enemies while they sell weapons and means for Muslims to slaughter each other .
