The 'rat eaters' of India

Hmmm okay. U can't just blame gov. For everything. They hv themselves to blame for 70% of problem, hving large family, drinking problem, not sending children's to school, not work when pocket is full and many more, giving votes for drink and few hundred rupees, . They need to wake up too and not just hide behind caste system shield, even u can see high caste crushing low caste are no longer the situation. I m being a high caste know it, thoese days when do make them do begar are long gone. I don't think now days anyone can make them do anything forcefully, at least not in my area. And i m from bihar which use to be the kingdom of caste system.

I am from a state which had one of the worst caste system in India.... and during his visit Sri vivekanda swami once said Kerala is "Land of Crazy people" (the term is in malayalam "Brandan marude Nadu").... Now we do not have any such issues... Yes caste remains but that is not life and most of us dont bother about it...

Kerala is one of the most per capita alcohol consumption state in India...

Now i have given examples of a state which had similar problems... Now compare the present status....

Ah ah rats in marshy land ? I never heard that before ..those people are there for small fish and snails may be ...poverty is different and life style is different ..a rich dog will go for bone rather than costly ice cream...who are we to question their lifestyle ?..let them eat what they wish...

There you are..... How did Kerala become High Literacy rate???? There have been lot of efforts by State government to gramapanchayats and several NOGs..... So the onus is on Government.... They need to drive and ensure that these schemes are reaching the people in all sections.... That is the reason i was blaming govt and agencies.... Yes ordinary citizens should support and supplement government i agree

Some parts of India is worse than the poorest african countries

I hope good governance and change in people mind would help bihar to grow to a successful state..... But the immediate step should be to eradicate poverty.... We cannot let children of India suffering like that in OP

I dono about that (i dont want to divert it to a religious discussion), But christian missionaries also contributed a lot in Kerala.... But let us not discuss that as that is not the topic at hand...

I m not giving it a religious color, but Christian missionaries are very notorious is this part and and thr psychological attack om caste and religion is not good for the country.

Unfortunate, wondering why super duper economy is not able to fix this issue?
Just like how your super duper military is unable to tackle talibans. Dont worry...slowly but surely the situation of these people will improve.

Bihar`s economy does not represent India`s economy on its own.

Because they have a Mighty Army Headed by The Great Bikram Singh who is hungry for funds for expensive weapons to boost his imaginary pride.

because their rich r too busy in some more ''important things''. Their country is a Classic Example of Rich and Poor divide.

1. Go cry somewhere else about military spending (your own country) .... India`s defence spending is actually pretty low. Less than 2% of its GDP.

2.) India is not a communist nation. ..... people can buy what they want with their money. Those rich people like Tata, Ambani and co. are the reason why millions have a job, and not some BS socialist dumbasses.
