What do you mean by personal freedom? No where on earth was there total personal freedom ever, because that would result inutter chaos, and lack of civilization. We are asking for the opposite - development of civilization. Americans are backward people helped by no wars in multiple centuries on their territories, immense resources stolen from the natives of America, and huge influx of European scientists after World War II. The trend continues today, so much so that importing foreign scientists is still one of the major foci of American scientific directives.
Did not you say you love the indecent dances? Is not that a tremendous policy failure on your King's part? One of the major requirements for selection into KAUST was that the professors should be well established in their respective fields, so they have already a huge headstart over newbies from desert kingdoms. Why should not those kafir Westerners produce scientific breakthroughs?
In simple words, your country has been duped by kafir Westerners. They implemented unislamic laws, follow unislamic practises within Saudi Arabia, which your unintelligent king allowed because his knowledge of scientific research is insignificant, and in the end, they provide you with no significant output.
