The Militarization of India

India has a responsibility to make sure of the safety of our billion plus population first and foremost.

I think the defence spending is in line with global norms, in fact less than unstable and dangerous tyrannical countries like China, etc.

Brother, why are you making yourself a laughing stock by blaberring incohohorently on topics you have little or no idea. If you, don't know stuff, just refrain from commenting. Few facts for you to ponder:

- India spends 2.5-3% of India's GDP on defence (which is more or less standard)
- India is a democratic rebupblic, where the people chooses their representative to govern the country every 5 years.

I hope your general knowledge is enhanced now.
If democracy is all that great..

1. why do you keep sending your desperate country men all over the world to invade jobs and work for 1/3 wages at slave like conditions? Thats a clear sign that India cannot provide for its citizen..that a shame after all these 64 years of independence. Looks like colonialism was good for India. Even Afghanis demand better wage than Indians.

2. India remains the most backward country with world largest slums, poors and aids infested communities.

3. Indians wherever they go blend in real fast and try their best to settle in. No wishes to return to their glorious india ever. This also makes them the largest group of visa fraud in several countries. Looks like democratic India isn't ideal for its own citizens.

The regime in India is surprisingly similar to the regime in North Korea. Both are heavily militarized, fascist governments that spend billions on weapon systems even as their citizens starve. It is time for Indians to overthrow their plutocratic caste regime and establish a true democracy under socialism and equality.

coming to think about it,the regime in NK is more similar to that of China than India. They follow same ideology ,Communism.

INdia in the long run remains a failure..there is no such thing as indian identity. Back in the cold war the soviet ideals of socialism helped but since the end of cold war India has fallen in a dispatriate state...to keep it cohesive the hype of economy was built up but at 1/4 of china that remains a miserable failure too as well jackup up one of the world highest gdp to debt ration. Sooner or later the bubble will burst much like it did in the USA and europe and war is the best way to divert public attention towards a unitied cause..soon there will be a staged terrorist attack in India and it will be blamed on Pakistan with or without evidence does not matter and full scale invasion will begin..sort of like india version of 9/11 drama

Sombozo your posts are treat to read..

Both US and India are democracies. But too many poor people in India would rather have food than have democracy. People really do not have time to worry about government or democracy if their stomach is not full first.

Looks like the term globalization has not boiled down inside your head properly. Its a global market, and where ever there is an opportunity, there is an Indian :woot: Dont feel sorry if you are left behind in the race.Someone has to loose something for some one to gain something.Thats the way it is.

2. India remains the most backward country with world largest slums, poors and aids infested communities.

India is massive country with a massive population. So,numerical figure is bound to be big, while percentage wise it is not.Try learning the meaning of the word percentage.
3. Indians wherever they go blend in real fast and try their best to settle in. No wishes to return to their glorious india ever. This also makes them the largest group of visa fraud in several countries. Looks like democratic India isn't ideal for its own citizens.

One of the good characteristics of the Indians. You can keep yourself aloof, thats your choice. We have different choices and the effects are evident.

This guy thinks of democracy as a magical wand on waving of which everything get resolved overnight...Spend some time reading...

US is a country that is surrounded by Atlantic ocean on the east,Pacific ocean on the west,a friendly country in the form of Canada in the north and another friendly country in the form of Mexico in the south. All these, with a huge deposits of varied type of natural resources including one of the largest deposits of oil in the World, and only two major type of ethnic races. What else do you need to make a country the most developed country in the World???
Now compare that with India....you will get the picture.
Hostilities up north,super-hostility in west, nagging problems of one of the largest exodus in human history due east,a huge population divided into at least 15 different major languages and ethnicity, lack of the many important natural resource required for development including oil.India has done quite well in its history of 63 years when the countries like US were already much developed. So India had to fight with competitors who are already in much better position. So,considering all these,I will say,India has done much better.

India is today the world's largest importer of arms. These include fighter jet planes, missiles and radar systems for strategic partnerships and geo-political power. India is also investing in security and surveillance to combat foreign threats and resistance from its own people in places like the Kashmir valley, and the North East and tribal regions of Central India. This provides tremendous opportunity for multi-national corporations to sell and invest in India, a country marching ahead as an economic and military power.

Yasmin Qureshi: The Militarization of India

First off, the source is Counterpunch!! Leftist potheaded terrorist loving pu$$ies. These people actually bend over backwards to offer their rears for others' pleasure!! But hey, thats another extreme, albeit the stinky end of the political spectrum!

There are all these weapons import and not a single civilian get to wield one. So how is that militarization?
Neither is the army out in streets, unlike in China and Pakistan, suppressing people's freedoms guaranteed and protected by India's Constitution - which btw doesnt get changed every time there is a regime change! And neither does the population look up to the armed forces to provide for stability from political turmoil - which is again rare in the first place. You see, Indian electorate is intelligent enough to decide for themselves whom to VOTE for, unlike many countries in the neighborhood.

Anywho, India got money, India will buy anything it fancies. All those pining and "weeping" for India's poor, please do something like contribute your a portion of your salaries to feed them. God will be happy for your generosity. Dont you guys want to cavort in heaven?

I'm impress by your demonstration of confidence in your country. Many Indian do so here. But many also do not understand where India stands vs the world. Its true that India had made much progress. However, the majority of Indians are too destitute to care about politics. Provide food, clothing, proper shelter and education to the poor first. Otherwise, they are not part of democratic process that is reserved to the select few Indians. Any Indians in here would be the top 10% income earner in India as the great majority do not have computers.

Take the money you spend on TOT that you do nothing about and put it to build toilets, proper homes and roads. And feed the poor and stop killings

Ever wonder, countries with the word "Democratic" in their official names are anything but democratic. They are always either dictatorships or commies.
