This is completely wrong. I have a whole bunch of Hindu friends from where I came. I never seen any riots neither had any form of fight between Hindus and Muslim. Yet 2/3rd of the Hindus left. They did not even bother to sell their property rather one fine night they disappeared. I asked one of my hindu friend who is trying to get back some of the abandoned property of his neighbor from the government as why they did not give the property to them before leaving as they were related to them. He said they even did not let them know before leaving. Then I asked, how come they abandoned all the property but he smiled and told me that they got more land in India for free than what they had here. People were given land in the hills as much as they could plough in India. A lot of Hindus took this opportunity of free land in India and left BD. There is nothing BD muslim could do about it.

Hogwash! Land is not freely available in West Bengal that we can dole out lands to anybody and everybody. There is in fact not enough land to accommodate industries let alone refugees. Those who migrated had to go through so much hardship that you can't imagine. Just watch Ritwik Ghatak's Meghe Dhaka Tara to grasp the situation refugees had to go through.

That your friends didn't even bother to sell their land tells a lot about what they had to go through. Discrimination against Hindus in Bangladesh is subtle, non Bengalis may not put a finger on that but we very well can. It's all about good cop/bad cop game, Jamat makes those people to flee, AL/BNP takes over the land.

In my entire life I never met anybody who said they know any Bengali Muslim who migrated to India. Until I meet one I have no compulsion to believe Mr. Jyoti Bose. It could be Bihari Muslim, who knows.

Muslim of Bangladesh today were mostly low caste Hindus who converted, the ones who ruled were Turks. As a Punjabi guy who has been to both West Bengal in India and Bangladesh, I could tell that because there was a distinct difference between what the general populace looked like in Kolkata vs Dhaka. The Bangladeshis tend to be more darker and shorter, you can tell just by looking. If you have the guts, attack us and find out the hard way what the Indian military is capable of. As far as the real world is concerned, most of you whine how your Govt is a servant to India, so stay in that real world and let go of your rather wild delusions

The weak converted and the strong stayed true to their faith. Trust me, Bangladesh was considered waste for us and no one sheds a single tear and never will that you guys seperated. Some Indians are sad that Pakistan seperated, because there was a lot of agricultural land in Punjab especially, but no one cares about Bangladesh. If it lets you sleep at night, yes you can dream up grand delusions of ruling India. It is much more then that as it is measured with 1995 base year. Even if it is 800 dollar that is mostly due to the after math of 1971 war. Till then Bangladesh had higher per capita gdp then both India and China. But your poor India lagged behind most of other HDI indicators. Do not forget 660 million of you lot still do sh*t open, you lot have have more poverty then sub saharn african poverty combined. You minister had to ask its people to eat rats instead of rice. There is no comparison with such lower class backward people. The reality is that most of the eastern Indian states are poor and backward which may leads to the break up of India as well.

go ask the west bengali babus... Still they are now full of prejudice .... nothing else. In 1947 Dhaka was almost nothing but now it has suppressed kolkata except some infrastructure and transit system. Now poverty rate, unemployment rate is higher is west bengal. Industrialization is lower compared to Bangladesh. Just a dumping ground of the dalits.
