Flood threat emerges, army deployed in 8 districts of Sindh
To avoid any unforeseen mishap, army has been deployed in 8 districts of Sindh as the flood threat emerges.
ISPRs Col. Hassan Imam told Duna News that Pakistan Army soldiers have taken their positions with all the rescue equipment; where as monitoring cells of Army have also been established in Pannu Aaqil, Hyderabad and Karachi. Col. Hassan Imam also said that army has been given this task of rescue operation and more troops are also set on high alert.

Rescue workers and troops in northwest Pakistan struggled to reach thousands of people affected by the country's worst floods since 1929, according to officials. Heavy monsoon rains have triggered severe, deadly flooding in Northwest Pakistan, claiming the lives of more than 800 people and forcing thousands from their homes. The United Nations estimates that around one million people nationwide are affected by the disaster.
