Only critical areas have protection against 12.7mm, such as the cockpit floor, seat bolsters, rotor and some other critical areas. AH-64 which is more heavily armored is still susceptible to small arms fire, such as in this footage where AH-64 Gunner gets hit in the shoulder from 7.62×54mm PKM
