It's too risky to visit Turkey nowadays.

You should wait until 2018 or 2019. Things should get better by then -- assuming ISIS is completely defeated in Iraq and Syria, that is.

Heck, its too risky to visit any random place nowadays. I even purchased my Turkish jersey a while ago in case

Why doesn't Turkey take the initiative to reform Islam, by the way?

Why does the AKP insist on following the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood ideology instead of forming its own interpretation/version of Islam?

In my opinion, Turkey should create a Turkish version of Islam that's compatible with democracy and secularism. Then, it should try to export its model to the rest of the region.

Unfortunately, that's not what Turkey's doing. The AKP is currently flirting with Islamic movements that originated from places such as Egypt and Syria.

You don't understand my point. We always had radical Islamists in Turkey like European countries had Nazis. But the common Turkish Islamist movements never used weapons and bombs and guns. Only socialist groups and Arab Islamists choosed this kind of fight. Even hardcore anti-USA/Israel/Nato/EU Sharia fans from Milli Görüş always prefered a civil and political conflict. These refugees and Arabs unfortunately infected the brains and minds of some Turkish Islamists. That's not acceptable.
