The Economist Report - The path through the fields

You can do your trolling in some other places... From 1990-2010 Awami League was in power for 7 year only and BNP for 10 years. Now it is upto you whom you should provide credit for the development

Check the stats of 2005. Things started to improve when Hasina took over power from BNP.

Seikh Hasina zindabad, Joy Seikh Hasinar!

All credit goes Seikh Hasina and Awami League!

You are right. The incredible credit of insulting openly and kicking out the Honourable Dr. Yunus from Grameen Bank, as well as from Bangladesh lies solely with the stupid Begum SHW. His only fault was he has many followers in the country and, therefore, he is capable of giving her Party a big run in the next election. You see, this SHW claims herself as the champion of democracy. She always criticizes the NGOs by saying they have no contributions to the social development, it is her Party that is responsible. What a hypocrat!

population control is unislamic. are you guys real muslims?

Jeez...don't know if you are trolling or just being stupid.

Libya has a population of 6 million. What does that make them? In fact, those Middle Eastern countries do not have high population densities.

I'd be careful if I were you

Dr. Yunus's Citizen Power never positioned itself as a party challenging BNP and AL. It's more of a sideline party.

Err... Population control is not unislamic, it is allowed to use all kinds of method except permanent method ......

Khalsa zia left power in late 2006, then caretaker government took over power for 2 years, at last hasina government came to power in 2009.

Most importantly this has been mostly done by the NGOs. Neither by BNP nor by bal.

yes lets bring her to power again so that she can rename some more conference centers and airports.also lets get a new currency note with herself in front. How do these idiots get into power, what a disgrace

Pakistan has continued to offer upward economic and social mobility to its citizens more than most countries of the world, including India and Bangladesh, over the last two decades. Since 1990, Pakistan's middle class has expanded by 36.5% compared with Bangladesh's 8.3% and India's 12.8%, according to an ADB report titled "Asia's Emerging Middle Class: Past, Present And Future.

Instead of posting all these backdated data come to reality. Currently Bangladesh has 51 million middle class. By the end of this decade there is a strong probability Bangladesh will be ahead in terms of per capita GDP then Pakistan. But it does not mean we want bad for Pakistan. Best of luck.

But Awami League protected Bangladesh economy from two global recessions when even the economies of India and China could not resist the global slowdown.

Dont comment without knowing anything. Malaysiya is already a developed economy where most of the people have a stable earning. So it is natural percentage change of middle class will be less as most of them already are. Malaysia has a per capita GDP of 10466 and Pakistan has per capita GDP of 1200 usd. You should easily understand why there is a less change in Malaysia.

But Awami League protected Bangladesh economy from two global recessions when even the economies of India and China could not resist the global slowdown.

BAL did not protected that. It is the remittance money of the NRB those who are working day and night to make Bangladesh prosperous have saved the economy and the other thing which have saved the economy is the RMG export. Hasina government has included so many useless people as minister and adviser which is causing the downhill popularity of the Awami league. Now it can not even secure a 1.2 billion usd loan. What a disgrace. But it does not mean BNP is like savior or angel. Both are more or less same.
