They are important to us because they are of companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), some are family of the Prophet(PBUH). As far as shirk is concerned well shirk is not allowed in Islam simple as that. You cannot worship even grave of the prophet. Paying respect is another matter and hence we gave same respect to shrines of revered personalities. Whereas you Iranians have selective behavior even in respecting these shrines.





Well entire Muslim and for that matter Sunni world cannot be blamed for few groups. At least majority of Pakistanis do not want to destroy any shrine.
