Whatever you guys are saying is true but I think its harsh to point everything towards our Ulema. We should learn why the ulema are a problem in the Muslim ummah, dont just look in Pakistan, look at the arab world. This problem started when the western world occupied our territories and completely destroyed our education system. Our population are uneducated, corrupt and jahil, our leaders are patwaris, our ruling elite are a curse upon us and we somehow think our ulema are going to be Angels. The ulema have come from the same tree, which is our society. Look at our police and lawyers, may Allah almighty protect us but the day we get in trouble in the Muslim worlds then we realise how much blood will be sucked.

The positivity is as our society gets more educated and disciplined then the output will be better InshaAllah. Keep in mind the Muslims were the first people to open a university, hospital, look around the world today, who has the biggest hospitals and universities.

all these imams must be registered with the state and then all must attend a re- eduation program and one circulium top bottom topology . State will decide what they will earn depending knowledge etc. Any charity they work for, the money must be declared to public.

Just a question ...What qualification does the state have to assess the knowledge of the ulema? Who will assess them?

.
What should be done about them. lets hear from you
Inspired by Turkey, Russia and China. First categorize them then deal with them

  • incapable of being reformed - send them to gulags or use them as mules in Siachin.
  • capable of being reformed - rededucation and then service with state diniyat.

Very true, most of the good scholars have gone quiet because only the cunning gets to be at the top. Molvis certainly have connections, they like a gang, but to be honest so do the corrupt politicians, even if they are from a different party, they still keep in touch and help each other behind the scenes. The same with molvis, they have massive connections all over the country, exact same system and mentality.

Yes let's become PDF molvis. Anybody wants to donate to us.

Whose paying for the bottled water? I thought the supreme court had them banned and GoP had developed safer water for 1 percent of the cost as Mevlana Fuwwad Chowdary declared publicly.

What was the agenda of the meeting?

Mr. Prime Minister is wasting everyone's time.

Just a question

You can scroll through the thread.

You will see people calling for genocide of them and reeducation camp and whatnot. Extremism runs deep within all walks of life apparently.

So much for being accommodating. One rule for people like yourself and another rule for those who you don't like.

One problem is that people view it as some last resort career for kids who aren't able to become something like a doctor or engineer. So you end up with a good chunk of people who aren't very passionate about what they are & also they aren't the "best" minds of society.

I'm not saying less brainy people shouldn't aim to become an imam or scholar if they want to devote their lives to Islam. That's still good, that can still produce good natured imams and scholars. But if you're putting people on a conveyor belt to become a leader of society (because essentially that's what imams and scholars are to their local community) and those people just view it as a job to earn some money then that's just not good.

PM urges clergy to promote religious harmony

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday urged religious clerics to promote religious harmony in the country.

Maulana Allama Tahir Ashrafi, Mufti Munibur Rehman, Allama Arif Wahidi and other religious scholars attended the meeting, chaired by the premier.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri and other leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were also present in the meeting.

The premier also took the participants into confidence regarding madrassa reforms being implemented in the country.

“A uniformed system of education is being introduced across Pakistan. Students of religious institutions will also get support from the government,” he said.

PM Imran also informed about his recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Iran amid escalating tensions between the two Muslims countries and explained to them Pakistan’s role as a peace facilitator.

“Unity of the Muslim world is extremely important right now. Ulema must help spread the message of peace and harmony,” said the premier following which the clerics also assured him of their support.

Prime Minister Imran also lauded the scholars for highlighting grave human rights violations by Indian forces in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) at every platform.

The meeting did not discuss JUI-F chief’s declaration to march on Islamabad on October 31, according to Maulana Ashrafi.
