WB is no longer our issue... but their demise is a sad thing nevertheless. They never realised that we may be Muslim but that never meant that that we do not hold our culture close to our heart. They were played, they diminished themselves willingly. They saw muslim bangalies as the other forgetting thousands of years history that built the bangali nation. Divided a people will always fail. You can not help someone who has no confidence in their own people.

The light of Bengal will burn bright in Bangladesh and I suspect in a few decades only the Muslim of Bengal will identify themselves as Bengali. Hindus will succumb to Hindi influence with no backbone to preserve their birthright. WB muslims will always have bangladesh as a source of identity and cultural base.

It is simply a matter of time that we will hear that Bengali culture itself is foreign from the RSS types.

There was a plan for W Bengal, BD, NE states and Arakan to become one state in 1947. This would have been best solution for the sub-continent

I know - Bengali Hindus made a wrong choice unfortunately. That - and the targeted atrocities toward Hindus before 1971 did not help.

Look at how many Hindus that migrated to West Bengal have now started to come back home to Bangladesh. Wasn't the promised land of milk and honey at all, as they found out.

First, Bangladeshis are NOT Bengalis.

Second, Bangladeshis do not speak Bengali, they speak a hotchpotch of rustic Bengali with a large cocktail of Middle Eastern desert languages.

Third, Bangladeshis do not follow Bengali culture, they follow a hotchpotch of some Bengali culture with a large cocktail of Middle Eastern desert culture.

Kolkata is the only epicenter of genuine, classy Bengali language, culture, literature, music, movies, and art....all things that define a true Bengali.
