Few things I have noted and I feel like will most likely happen in future.

1) Lithium/Silicon chip race (or hybrid war on it)

2) Economic race between USA and China from which Pakistan can benefit massively along with Afghanistan and Iran.

3) No more conventional proxies. Even Pakistan has said it clear that we have geo economics policy not geo security.

4) India will play all of its cards for instability in Afghanistan. Especially through Panjshiris (Amrullah & Co) or Dostum.

5) Modi is polarising and making indians society extremist which will have effects after 15-20 years and will remain for half a century.

We experienced it due to Zia (even tho he helped us not get invaded by USSR and other stuff.)

6) Indian Subcontinent and China had 60+ of share in world trade in 1600s.

If Pakistan Bangladesh China and India start trade it will put us way a head of west.

India and Pakistan should do trade trade directly to cut cost as we pay middle men 6 to 7 more than the original price in profit.

But all of above in (6) depends upon Pakistan India sitting down and resolving it.

Secondly it is not all tied to Afghanistan but overall world. silicon chips are made in Vietnam and China which is one of the reasons for US to back Vietnam.

India is always willing for direct trade with Pakistan. India had given Most Favored Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan for 15 years waiting for Pakistan to reciprocate.
It is Pakistan which links Kashmir issue to trade talks.
Look at Chinese dealings with countries having territorial disputes - India, Taiwan, Japan. They do not let it affect trade. That is the reason they are growing at such rapid pace.
