The coronavirus outbreak may hurt Imran Khan's political future

@DESERT FIGHTER Hello all the praise for emperor bilawal.
So your whole argument surrounds a single point that we should had locked our country a lot ago, Sir Pakistan was the one to lock down the country just after few patients were discovered, early in the start of epidemic. Secondly as per DG ISPR we cannot have an indefinite lockdown so if we had locked our country just after the first patient we would now have to lift the lockdown by now just when pandemic is on increase and once we had lifted the lockdown it would had spread like a wildfire. So we had to choose the right time neither too early nor too late and this is what govt has done. WHO has also said that the disease will be back once lockdowns are lifted.
By the way sweden and netherlands havent even imposed lockdowns and seem to do better than the ones who did so.
Media has just gone bonkers because of all their money has been cut off and the this tom hussain has quoted sohail warraich makes me laugh, by the way sohail warraich has predicted thousand times that the govt is going down and we still have to see that. His last deadline was in march which has already passed. Media anchors who rallied for early lockdown have now realized that hunger is taking a horrific shape among the poor.
It seems you are just another elitist and afraid of corona because this time you cant reach out to doctors in london so the only solution you have is to lockdown the country and let people die of hunger because hunger cant reach you but corona can.
Pathetic narcissist coward rich lad

Ok...I didn't know that..u.I was thinking the number of tests is uniform across Pakistan like in India...but Karachi is the commercial capital of Pakistan.. isn't it?like Mumbai for India.
Doesn't the fact that Punjab did 30k tests out of total 40k tests validate the allegation of other provinces all these years that Punjab is exploiting their resources..I can understand KPK and balochistan doing less tests as they are backward areas but sindh which has the commercial capital of Pakistan doing way less tests than Punjab is surprising.
The point you brought up about ‘Punjab exploiting resources’ is another reason to criticize the PPP. The 10th anniversary of the 18th amendment was yesterday I think. Under the 18th amendment (passed by all political parties) there was significant devolution of power to the provinces. Health was one of the areas transferred to the provincial govt. The health ministry was technically abolished at the Federal level. This devolution was also accompanied with significantly more revenues allotted to the provinces (since now certain subjects were in the provincial domain instead of Federal). So the main responsibility for acquiring testing kits, PPE & conducting tests lies with the provincial governments. The Federal government & NDMA (National Disaster management authority) is assisting the provinces in that regard, but at the end of the day it is the provinces that need to increase the number of labs and capability to analyze tests. That last part, quickly increasing testing capacity (as well as increasing COVID-19 treatment and quarantine infrastructure) is where the Punjab government has done exceptionally well compared to Sindh, and it has nothing to do with ‘exploiting resources’.

Sindh has been mismanaged in every field for so long under the PPP that they are going to find it exceptionally hard to sustain the necessary actions on the ground. Let’s assume the PPP leadership is sincere about tackling the pandemic (which they are), no amount of sincerity is going to change the lack of qualified appointees in critical sectors by the provincial government, the corruption and political appointments over decades of PPP rule, the lack of proper investment in the healthcare sector etc.

If you don’t know about it yet, look up the water crisis in Karachi, the malnutrition & health crisis in Thar and the more recent HIV outbreak in Larkana (Bhutto’s own town) & how poorly the PPP Govt handled those situations.

What a joke. Siasat.pk is actually pti.pk galom galoch central. Anyone presenting a different view than worshipping IK is banned by administration, there is a team of WhatsApp PTI warriors who as soon as someone posts a thread against PTI is alerted and then a gang all start galom galoch of mothers, sisters, family and whatever they can say to thread starters.

This forum has some youthiyas but overall, actual discussion takes place and nobody calls your mother a slut because you say something against IK.

You're probably surprised why we didn't abuse @DESERT FIGHTER family because he praised Sindh government but this forum isn't filth.

Sindh actually lead in number of confirmed cases.

But Panjab overtook Sindh.
In Punjab 1421 out of 2166 patients are those who came from Iran. And 756 are other people. These people caught virus from those people who came from other countries. LHR 347, Kasur 9, RWP 63, Jhelum 30, GRW 40, Sialkot 19, Narowal 8, Gujrat 98, Hafizabad 6, MBD 15, Multan 4, Vehari 13, FSD 21, Chiniot 8, TTS 3, RYK 3, Sargodh 7, Mianwali 10, BWN 9, BWP 3, Lodhran 3, DGK 18 and Layyah, Okara, SKP, Khushab, Chakwal & Attock 1. Lahore has highest number of cases because it has airport.

Meanwhile Corona is suffering from Bhutto in Sindh.

The total tests listed on the COVID.GOV.PK website is 44,896.

Punjab: 29,158
Sindh: 11,623
KP: 3,322

The totals line up for the most part. Sindh needs to step up testing & contact tracing since they were the first ones with cases and had the largest number for a significant amount of time. Punjab overtook Sindh in the numbers of infected primarily after testing in Punjab was ramped up.

And testing is continuing to increase. I believe the goal is over 20,000 tests per day nationally.
