The Chinese View of India

These folk seem surprisingly well informed about india. I am pretty sure if they did a similar survey of ordinary Americans or Europeans , they would be much less informed or hold very incorrect views, esp. Europe.

So you are saying that
Sorry but the whole world does not mean the political nuanced and the Indian diaspora.. 90% of the world may not know who Mr. Modi is actually, Contrary to popular belief in India
so you are saying that 90% of the world don't have access to political information???

:(.. I hope they would go easy on me.. I quite like Mr. Modi, Take away all the showmanship and hooplah, He is actually a good politician

Well now guynextdoor is going to have to shoot you :o:

Nope just that 90% of the world population may not know or be interested in Indian politics.. Nor would their media be interested in it.. The same goes to many other world leaders as well.. Most ordinary Indians would not know who Xi Jinping is ?

LoL. The whole world knows about Mr. Modi. But Chinese don't. This shows how their media is free. Chinese people only knows what their govt. want them to know. Pathetic.
I don't see how its pathetic.

The Chinese are not obligated to know Modi.

Please come out of your bubble and try to behave sensibly. I don't know where you get such concepts.

You are wrong bro. Indian political system is master of all political system. It is a largest democracy in world. I watch BBC, CCN , AL-ZAZEERA and RT news on daily basis. Every second day there is news on indian politics on these channals.

You're right there was practically no coverage of Obamas visit to india on American TV, in part due to some bad weather in the north east during that time, though indian media had wall to wall coverage for weeks and every word, gesture and f@rt of the president and First Lady was analysed ad nauseam .

Same with indian elections, hardly a word, except in the more high brow newspapers, it's as if it never happened. Most people wouldn't have a first clue of who modi is. India is not the center of the universe ....unfortunately ...:undecided:

After reading all the interviews, this is the summary

Positives:

India a very large country developing rapidly
Buddhism
Ancient Civilization
Cooperation between India and China is important

Negatives

Most of them don't want to visit India
Mysterious country
Safety for women is an issue
Little dirty

If you ask Indians if they want to go to China, I will bet 90% will say yes. The images that I have about China's rapid development and the their work ethic and culture always intrigues me. I am planning to go next month if my visa gets approved in time.

Given that you're in US, the urban sprawls in America is little more intriguing, don't you think so? Making skyscrapers taller than NYC is one thing, but living with the New Yorker spirit is another. @Nihonjin1051 might agree?

BBC,CNN, AL Jazeera and RT news you get in India is completely different to what you get in other parts of the world.. Have you heard of regional broadcasting ? For example you get BBC Asia,BBC Australia, BBC America etc.. So does for CNN and AL Jazeera.. Even BBC world has regional specific broadcasts

Plus mainstream populations do not watch BBC or AL Jazeera in any part of the world, Those are mainly for niché viewers.. You'd be surprised to know you wont find many Brown faces in news casters i either of these channels like they do in South Asian broadcasts

Exactly.. Unfortunately that is something some Indians resident in India find hard to fathom

you indian mentality is pathetic. almost every beijing people know obama and putin, even abe. but nobody know modi, cause he is nobody in our view not a god you indian worshiped. in fact, for Chinese, india is a country negligible.

sorry to break your delusion, you lived in your well too long. trying to jump out and see the world.

There is a sense of respect that each country has for the other. Old civilizations respect each other. But the present is still rather fked up. :(

Article is balanced not to much hate or love
