China's Hawaii? Laughable. I have been to both. Hainan is like a poor man's Hawaii. First of all, most of the tourists are Northern Chinese rednecks who have shit manners and some Russians. You never feel relaxed there because they are always yelling on their phones and still pushy as ****. Secondly, there is no relaxed beach culture, just completely over-commercialized. Thirdly, Hainan's beaches and scenery is very plain, it is nowhere near how epic and beautiful Hawaii is.
Hainan is more the Daytona Beach of China. LMAO

This is completely true. I watch travel shows from Eastern Europe and they market Hainan as a Hawaii-esque location for those who cannot afford to visit more expensive Hawaii. They have travel shows often to Turkey and Egypt because these resort locations are inexpensive compared to Bahamas and other more Western popular resorts. Poor man's vacation to save a couple thousand dollars.
I was going through old videos I watched and was just watching the travel show on Hainan, then I see this thread.
I would still rather go to Hainan. The people are more normal there. The poor of the world, especially the Balkans and Ukraine, are more cultured than the rich of the West.

The kids like this are the trump supporters who vacation in Hawaii.
I would rather be surrounded by gypsies in gold chains, than some racist redneck vacationing in Hawaii. 15 years ago, they had issues, now they have major mental issues in the US.
If in China, the tourists caused any real problems, the Chinese would deal with them. Since these are well-respected vacation spots, there is more peace there than in Hawaii.
There is more autonomy being around poor Ukrainians vacationing in Hainan. A trip to Hawaii surrounded by rednecks is a waste of time and money. If the place is deserted, then maybe a trip to Hawaii.
You need to be on your guard from Karen. There are less Karens in Eastern Europe.
