The Battle for Bakhmut – Wagner Trench Warfare Tactics

. .
Has Bakhmut fallen to the Russkies? BTW, Why was this city important for them? Is it a major rail junction?
It has a rail line going through it, but it's honestly not that important. They want it mostly for its symbolism.

From what I can tell the Ukrainians haven't left Bakhmut yet, and are launching a counter offensive. They may have retreated from some forward positions though.

Russia is sending more resources than Bakhmut is worth. Absolutely a foolish decision by Russia. They had far more important targets that should have been prioritized. They wasted +7 months on maybe capturing Bakhmut.

How did he win? He lost a good chunk of territory. He is a poodle of the West.
He has a bank account plenty of Western money, he wins, he wont need to work as clown the rest of his long life.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian poor soldiers dead in a trench, they lost, Zelclownsky wins.

If you look at the map then you see that many roads from the surrounding cities cross in Bakhmut. Its a logistical hub. But Bakhmut alone would bring only a "strongpoint" for Russia. If you look to where this roads go, then you can see the greater picture of the importance of Bakhmut. Bakhmut changes from a strongpoint to an stratetical point for Donbas if Russia manage to take also Seversk. And for to take Seversk, Russia has also to take Torske/Jampil and the surroundings. No, Liman is not so important at the moment. You can see on the maps that Wagner do a lot in direction north- northeast of Bakhmut. This is for to secure Bakhmut-front but also to bring Seversk into a cauldron. Same goes on in the forrest near Kreminna and direction Torske/Jampil, to close the Seversk-cauldron from this side. After all is done, then Bakhmut develops its strategical advantage. Just put a line from Torske/Jampil down along the channel to Bukhmut/Chassip-jar. Then you can see that all the greater roads cross in Bakhmut then allow Russia to move fast supplies/troops/logistics from far behind front to the front and also along the front.

Every city is important because these are defended better.. in between cities movement is easy and fast.

Everyone knows that .

You also can't skip a city or you will get a hostile reminder that someone is on your flanks

Bakhmut is divided by a river.
Troops are fighting across each other on river
But Russians will rather take it slow and chokes the 10k Ukrainian

They aren't in hurry

As long as India and china are buying their oil at 60$ they are more then happy with 250b$ of exports
