Americans don't have an inferior sense of humor...they have a different sense of humor....Most of the world's humor can be categorized as 'wit'(many Americans do not know the word).....American humor can be categorized as 'DUH'(queue Patrick star's laugh)....thus we see knock-knock jokes...or why did the chicken cross the road?.....there are some moderately witty ones in the later type of joke...

I just expressed my opinion and my observation about Americans(the ones who were born and bred there and come from families where their parents also grew up in that culture...not Americans with Vietnamese or Bangladeshi or Indian heritage).Regarding the Onion....yes many people from many different nationalities(including newspapers from Bangladesh) have taken the Onion seriously.But so has Fox news,MSNBC,US Capitol Police,Michael Phelps and a Republican Congressman....it seems Americans do not understand their own sense of humor!

1. They have the best junk food in the world. Mcdonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut are now everywhere in the world.
2. They make the best movies in the world. No one can compete with them on that.
3. They have the best comedies in the world. Watched by many.
4. They have the biggest music industry and the talent there is amazing. From Elvis Presley, to Michael Jackson, to Madonna and Whitney Houston who else can compare to these icons.
5. Americans generally are very friendly and are easier to make friends with than European cousins.

Only there govt brings them down and give them a bad name. Most countries who hate USA, dislike them because of the politics.
But the Americans are generally nice people.

Ofcourse, thats just my opinion.

all the things you listed are only famous because the mass media is owned by americans. They are spreading their culture to make money, and making you believe their brands are something special but they arent.
