Let me tell you something honestly about my country. There were good and bad things, which includes wars.
You know that India is our enemy. I will start from the past. Pakistan received no weapons despite signing agreements that the British were supposed to give right after Independence. In the 65 war, Pakistanis defended itself with hardly any guns or aircrafts. People literally gave lives under Indian Army Tanks. We even achieved freedom for Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmiris. During this post war era, General Ayub khan (the guy on my avatar) had made Pakistan in the list of fastest growing economy in South Asia. From PIA, to Suparco, to rapid Industrialization. Believe it or not, our GDP growth rate touched down to 9.5%. This in my view was Pakistan's best period of being self-sufficient.
Now i'll come the 70s, which saw yet another war, which India happily celebrates. This war was a civil war between West Pakistan and East Pakistan. I hope you are educated enough because if you look where East Pakistan is, i think you'll agree our hardship. With India (world's 7th largest country), in between, it was an impossible win for West Pakistanis to actually protect everything. For another truth, East Pakistan was not even supposed to be part of Pakistan. There is no relationship ethnically, culturally, and linguistically. It is still today written in the Lahore resolution (from 1940) that East Pakistan will become a new state. Even one of our founding fathers Chaudhry Rehmet Ali had that in mind. Now that rules were not followed, this stupid war, which i agree was not needed, had only created more trouble. Unlike what most countries would do after independence, most Bangladeshis still consider Pakistan as an ally. After the post war, Pakistan continued its economic prosperity. People from countries like South Korea, Malaysia, and UAE used to come for education and they thought of us as a role model. In another note, even your country, Iran had the best of times with us. Wars are won and lost however, it was India who still resisted and did not accept our creation. They secretly worked on the nuclear program and tested it. Pakistan, under the rulership of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, order to make its own.
Now come to the 80s. Here, we had Soviet Union (A super-power) on one end and India (a nuclear power) on the other end of the border. May god bless Shaheed General Zia-ul-Haq, he beat the hell out of everyone. Why isn't Russia a superpower anymore, well i would say to anyone who has no knowledge, go figure! This might shock a lot of people and not make sense to alot of people, but Pakistan's economy reached to a 10% growth side by side.
Now the 90s became interesting as Pakistan, under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif tested its nuclear bombs. India previously tested 3, however, we went ahead surpassing them with 4. Still this fooking enemy didn't give up. They used Israel to use its air power to destroy Pakistani nuke plants. You might have heard of the term 'ISI' before. If not, its our intelligence agency and they were very cleaver enough to to know it already. Before Israel could actually get inside Pakistan, our Air Force was already hovering in the air.
Now you tell me, should we or should we not deserve the right to fight for self defence?
