Shia and Sunni sectarian militant organizations aren't active anymore. LJ did a couple of attacks recently but overall Shia-Sunni sectarian violence is settled.

Ahmedis are a community who describe themselves as Muslims but mainstream Muslims define them as non-Muslims in Pakistan. They are non-Muslims according to our constitution. They face severe discrimination in society and by the state. JI used anti-Ahmedi protests to launch itself as a political force in '52 in the absence of a political base. They have suffered militant attacks from Punjabi sectarian militant organizations since early '90s and there were some recent attacks, none so violent.
