Territory lost of China coz of western invasion From 1840 to today

Mongolia is too far away, I am talking about recent history, most of unfair treaty have been signed by qing empire who ended 1911 not long time ago!
There are Tang,Song ,Yuan (Mongols),Ming,Qing and the current ROC and PRC,what you want to start to inheritate the history?
Tang?
I say the recent one,it is similar in india or Russia,
India inheritate the so called legacy of UK empire not 莫卧儿帝国 Mughal kindom(they have relations but not direct inheritation),
Russia inheritate the Soviet union not Tsarist Russia or Grand Duchy of Moscow or Khanate Of The Golden Horde(they have relations but not direct inheritation)...
China too has relation with Tang,Song ,Yuan (Mongols),Ming, but China has the direct inheritation from Qing Empire and the ROC in taiwan which still exist none offcially .

We will not give an inch of our territory. Aksai chin and AP belongs to us.
India is a country that does not exist
Is India a country?

Give it time.

It's one thing chinese have in abundance after surviving to be the world's oldest continuous civilization.
You're right
Although we lost a lot of territory, but our culture and words continue to this day!

You also should try to take back Hong-Kong.
Based on the logic that the empire should return all the territories it ever conquered, we should all be afraid of the Mongols.

There is not so much territory under Mongols' actual control, and there is no garrison in many places.
The Mongolian nationality is also part of the Chinese nation

British Empire were was still there untill 60-70's. Russia also lost plenty of territories in 1917 and even more - in 1991, should we claim all Soviet's and Russian Empire's lands?

Soviet Union does not belongs to Russian alone. So Russian has no right to claim anything from Soviet Union.

So - we can claim all the lands of Russian Empire? It was all Russian and it was much bigger then USSR.

Russian empire is never that big. Soviet Union is already the peak.
Russian Empire - 23.7 million km² (1867).
USSR - 22.4 million km².
Difference is 1.3 million km² - like 2 Frances.
So, Russia, like all big countries lost many lands and it is only 17.1 million km² now.

Only you guys can stand that frozen and icy wildlands. This is fate. Vast North Asia is so near by China and few people, Chinese army expelled one after another nomad power threats there in past 2 thousand years, we had to move back every time. The land could hardly be used as farmland or provide enough food. Until industry occurred, value of the land didn't appear.

Russia should claim back Alaska though, with Alaska Russia will be the true controller of artic ocean, in which it will become more and more important both strategically and economically in the near future.

I guess he may count the land of sphere of influence as their territory, which is uncommon for calculating national size.

Who said China is claiming the old territories, as i said some lands losing have been accpeted by China gov and some never?
You put words like China is claiming the old territories in my mouth!

Soviet Union does not belongs to Russian alone. So Russian has no right to claim anything from Soviet Union.
Russian nukes tell us another story which has been recognized by US gov itself!

They sold it not by force!

Expanding territory is so last century anyway. It just boost a national ego when looking at the map but does little to improve the standard of living of a people. More than 90% of China's population live east of the Heihe–Tengchong Line; less than 50% of the country territory.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heihe–Tengchong_Line

Mongolia is 4-5x the size of Japan, but so what? They have little population and influence. 99% of the land are empty and inhabited. What's useful is really just the natural resources beneath the land. Trade and globalization means that you don't need to own the land to have access to these resources. What's important is if you have the money to purchase them.

So in today's world land is not as useful as institutions, technology and human resources. These are what really makes a country stronger and people's lives better.

Look at the US. It's not the largest country in land area in history, but it is certainly the most influential power ever. Not just because of her military, but also thanks to her culture, economics, institutions and technology.

I know that Mongolian Empire was the largest, British was second and Russian - third. 23.7 million in 1866 is including Alaska. Btw other sources say it was 23.1 or 22.8 mln in 1866.
