Ten reasons why India will not and must not become a superpower

oh dear god.........Dude! This thread is dripping with jealousy. Now go back to your hole. Thanks.

Btw, im not sure if the thread starter is an Indian or false flag.

Most likely the later bro. This is obvious a flamebait. Just ignore the trolls, doesn't change the fact that india will continue to grow and prosper.

What according to you prevents this?

My second line: limited resources.

You cannot have 2+ billion people achieve the Swiss or Swedish standard of living. Something has to give, and no one is going to go down quietly.

With all the best intentions in the world, this is a dog-eat-dog world, and the other guy is going to play dirty.

Being a "superpower" is not a goal... it is a nightmare.
Its not a nightmare. Its a privilege. It comes to only the very few, capable countries.
Who actually wants to be a superpower? Who really needs "global power projection"?
Being a Superpower is not about power projection. Its about being a leader. People need leaders to lead them. Similarly countries need leaders to lead, provide direction and develop and prosper. Very few nations/countries in human history were capable of providing that. Presently US is doing it.

Supporting or bringing a couple of pariah states under one's wing, developing one's military and economy does not a "Superpower" make. One should possess a capability to provide vision, guidance and security to other countries. Only then, will a country be considered a superpower.

Given today's scenario, the sole remaining superpower will end up delegating such responsibilities to upcoming countries. No prize for guessing which countries are capable of fulfilling such a responsibility.

OK, if America thinks it is a privilege, then they are welcome to keep it.

America is spending trillions in upholding the global status quo, and keeping the sea lanes open, both of which benefit China.

America intervenes in the Middle East, attempts to maintain regional stability there, and prevents any major upsets in the oil supply. All out of their own pocket.

No complaints here at all. I should probably be thanking you.

There corrected it for you.

Of course. If US did not do it, who would? And do you think The Dragon would rise without US? Like I said, to be a superpower, a country should possess capabilities of providing vision, leadership, prosperity and finally security. Game, anyone?

India is no where near to superpower.
India can't become superpower with literacy rate of just 74%
It can't grew unless corruption is reduced.
It will never grow unless People of India understand standards of living.
It will not grew unless we use Public Transport more often than Private Vehicles.
Too much thing to think, so lets stop here. We are not superpower and will never be.

No thanks.

The Chinese leadership has always stated that China does not seek regional or global hegemony.

I would prefer it if China continues to spend our own money, on our own people.

As for America spending its own money, to attain stability in global resource routes, to keep sea lanes open, and in maintaining regional stability in the unstable parts of the world... thank you.

And I hope you continue to do it.

Hegemony? Poor choice of words.

So basically your post is a candid admission that China doesnt have global leadership capabilities?

No, it is an admission that China does not want to be the "world leader". Nothing to do with capabilities.

"Keep a cool head, and maintain a low profile. Never take the lead, but aim to do something big."

- Deng Xiaoping

What makes you think that China would want to spend its own money, to solve other people's problems?

If America wants to do that, then excellent. But try telling a poor Chinese farmer, that his tax money will be used to solve problems in Iraq or Nicuagua... and he won't be happy at all.

.
Well if in 64 years of freedom a country has risen at such an amazing pace(more in last 20 years) why be pessimistic about our future?
If we did such great work in last 20 years and driven are economy to a very good path which is expected to overtake many economies in the top 10 this decade,we can carry the same work forward..

.
lol stop making us laugh, what is there in india that we should be jealous of,

You are absolutely right. We even don't have visionary leaders like Zaid Hamid or Hamid Gul. I think Pakistan should select one of them as their next leader and voila instant superpower status.

Never take the lead, but aim to do something big."

- Deng Xiaoping

Nothing big was ever achieved without taking a lead!

As for the farmer, you are right. Not now, he may not be happy. But in the future, if all his needs are met and then some, at that point he may not care.
