We already have flown mig 25s deep inside your territory for reconnaissance untill late 1990's and early 2000's before it was retired. If you are talking about LCA, its not an air superiority fighter but for point defence. Nobody uses their point defence for front role unless there is a wise strategic reason to back it up.
Dog fight was significant during the world wars and hence speed mattered. In todays battle space, early to detect adds more probability to kill early and LCA's radar is far too advanced to pick up intrusion and nutralise without it getting picked up first.
