Tejas aircraft deficient in at least 100 technical parameters

In an article couple of years earlier, the author was describing the LCA as the next generation aircraft ready for business.....two years later, they find 100 technical decencies.
Talk about washing the soap before the hands.

Ab Kya kahun main Tejas ke liye, Everybody has written and said so much about it.
But ek baat to hai, jitna criticism kisi bhi cheej ka India mein hota hai utna to kahin bhi nahi hota.
Ex:- My dad told me ki jab Engineers ne sabse pahle Delhi Metro Ka Idea politicians ke samne rakha tha, to they asked questions like:-
1.) Abey train niche gir gayi to.
2.) Train hawa mein kaise chalegi.
Our engineers took them to london and other cities and convinced them that, it can be done in India too. Rest is History my friends.
Moral of the story:- Criticism acchi cheez hai. 100 defects hain, main to bolta hoon 1000 milne chahiye. Jab induct ho tab sab sahi hoga.

Baat tu barabar hey dost, magar......Jab, tab kartey kartey bees/tees saal ho chaley hai'n. :)

oh god tejas u will be the most criticized aircraft...just here a analysis of hongkong based media on lca tejas

in the above comparison, except tejas and jas 39, all the four are single engine medium multirole fighter. not a light combat aircraft.and comparison is nonsense. most of the data's in that pic is wrong and bull$hi*.

Mere mutabiq agar Tejas ek above average dogfighter and a good ground pounder hai tab bhi main khush hoon. Bhale hi apna tejas F-16 na ho par if it can fire BVR's and give them a run for their money then it's good enough for me.

Koi ek aircraft aisa bhi to ho jo mass produce kar sako, for overwhelming the enemies with sheer quantity. Air superiority ke liye aur bhi bahut hain apne paas.

Indigenous content of Tejas craft to go up
Chethan Kumar, BANGALORE, April 10, 2013, DHNS:
While work on obtaining the final operational clearance for India’s light combat aircraft (LCA) –Tejas – is going on in full swing, agencies working on the project, parallelly, are vying to increase the indigenisation aspect of the aircraft.

Sources in the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), which is the nodal agency for the project, said: “We have invited local vendors to take up the development of the line replacement units (LRU), commonly called ‘components’ so as to completely avoid or, at least, reduce the dependency on imports.”

Tejas, which was supposed to have been flying on an indigenously developed engine, has had to go in for imported GE engines after the project Kaveri—India’s engine development programme—failed to meet specifications.

Barring the engine, which is the heart of the aircraft, there are about 358 components that go into the aircraft, including crucial components in important systems, like avionics, environmental control, electrical and flight control.

Out of the 358 components, 53 per cent, that is 190 components are indigenously manufactured, while the remaining 168 are being imported. Speaking to Deccan Herald, C Ranganayakulu, Scientist “G,” ADA, said: “Currently, we are using imported LRUs to operate the flights for test flights and other sorties. When Tejas is ready for induction, we want to have as many indigenous LRUs as possible on the aircraft.”

Self-reliance aim

The move is in line with the Centre’s ambitions of increasing indigenisation, especially in crucial technologies. “There is no substitute for self-reliance,” reiterated Defence Minister A K Antony at a function organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Ranganayakulu, who is the convener for development of LRUs at ADA, explained that the agency was mulling to perform what they term “Drop-in Replacement. We will continue to use imported components but are hoping that indigenous products will eventually replace the imported items. We will stop the imports as soon as we have indigenous products meeting the exact specifications.” Now, LRUs are imported from Europe, Israel, the UK, Germany, France and other countries as different nations have different specialisations. The engine is imported from the US. The Limited Series Production-8 (LSP-8) of Tejas, the last in the LSP series, successfully completed its maiden flight on Sunday.

Sources said the Tejas, which is going through the initial operational clearance-2 (IOC-2), will be ready to get the final clearance (FOC) by 2014. The Indian Air Force (IAF), which has been waiting to induct the aircraft, is planning to raise the first squadron in Sulur, Tamil Nadu, and has already placed orders for 40 aircraft.

Tejas "" . : , . : .

and where is the details of 100 parameters??

They might be a little idiotic in reporting but they never hide failures. In the said event the report if failure were published within few hours.
You can't say that for our neighbours. Not going in details. And there is no harm in comparing. Your whole nation try to compare itself with India in every field.

well i observe those stuff, i dont think any responsible country give that much coverage to initial tests, they are conducted by scientists and media isnt welcomed in initial stage... but because india has such stuff so they can do it ..
there is a saying in Punjabi i want to quote here its about indian media "kHUSRYAN (SHEMALES) DE GHAR MUNDA HOYA ONA CHUM CHUM MAR DITA " :p

1. The J10, the Mirage 2000-5 and the F-2A are not 4.5 gen fighters! Which aspects of 5th gen fighters do they include????

2. Comparing NON EXISTING PAPER PLANES with fighters which are operational and flying is utter BS.

@Koovie

To say the least , this 4.5 Gen or 4.5 Gen++ classification is ambiguous ... Many aircrafts do not have AESA radars yet but still they are included in the category by their manufacturers ...

Teja is a failed aircraft which is still not inducted!

If u saying base on time period than also as per u, Dassault Rafale is a failed aircraft because 1st flight and Introduction time is 15 years........................ But, what is truth we all known.

Dassault Rafale
First flight 4 July 1986
Introduction 18 May 2001

Hal Tejas
First flight 4 January 2001
Status In production

By the way, If India was developing Jf 17 aircraft than still Indian airforce will not accepted as jf 17 configuration and performance.
because we don't need lower power and older generation aircraft..

Manufacturers can talk a lot....

4.5 generation usually means to have a 4th generation fighter, which has upgraded components which are very similar or same to those of 5th gen fighters.

This might include AESA, super cruise, super maneuverability, RAM coating, latest avionics etc...

So, what are these so called '100 technical parameters' that the aircraft is short of? Things have changed since this knucklehead of a journalist copied from some tabloid written way back in 2010! A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then.

Idiot of a douche-bag!

I know what it means but just apply the same criteria to all these jets+ a couple others and see how many remain a 4.5++ Gen fighter ...
