It was more a act of desperation such like in Tunisia and how the arab spring started from a small act of someone burning himself.

Desperate that they are not the privileged class anymore? Desperate that nuns/monks have to work for a living? Desperate that the young generation don't want to get brainwashed by susperstitious believes but rather want to learn science? Desperate that the temple doesn't hold the monoploly of weltanschauung anymore? Desperate that the young generation can chose not to be religious anymore?

How is Tunisia similar with the burning monks/nuns at all? In Tunisia, it was a civic movement against the ruling elite, not the cleric opposing a secular state.

Chinese will ve to pay for this....guess many more Tibets are hidden in mainland china...I see not less than 10 more countries joining in UN from current day China in coming decade!

As much as we had to pay for cutting the privilege of the catholic church? Well, in that case the price was absolutely right, because it was the beginning of the Renaissance and Europe's rise to dominate the world with science and technology.

When you get shot for protesting by the red brigade it boils down to the same thing. China's human rights records in Tibet is shocking and yet the red machine makes fake lies blaming the Dalai Lama when it infact was the culprit behind the genocide.

BBC News - China lock-down seals off Tibetan unrest

Authorities in China have launched a big security operation to try to end a wave of unrest caused by Tibetan campaigners.

In the past year, at least 19 people have publicly set themselves on fire, five in the past week alone, in a campaign calling for more freedom for Tibetans.

China has exercised sovereignty over Tibet for more than six decades.

Damian Grammaticas has been to Sichuan province bordering Tibet where most of the trouble has happened.

Tibet people want more freedom from the evil red brigade but instead they get shot like the arabs in Egypt and Tunisia.

IF, any of you ever being to Tibet, you will see how beautiful it is, and what a rich culture they have.
Then why is Dalai still calming "cultural genocide"?

Well, that depends on the definition of his "culture", what he really means is that China does not allow the worship of him.
It was all cool and nice until CCP decided to take the nobles and lama's lands giving them to the people. So, he started a rebellion, and failed.

I'm sorry, can you blame us for banning the worship of a man who committed treason against the state?
CCP banned him for political reason, there is no religious reason whatsoever.
