Teaching religion

Is sending remittances back to Pakistan not enough for you ungrateful commies?
Nope. Not enough. Imagine all the revenue you can generate by serving the nation with your experience in west and inspire the future generations who can become valuable asset for the country.

Agreed. But for this we need Pakistan to become a free market economy with rule of law.

Hard work, discipline, leadership skills. Things woke communists never endorse when they are in power.

Do you think are those three things being taught in ANY form of educational institutes here?

Agreed. But for this we need Pakistan to become a free market economy with rule of law.

Haan to wapis aoo na bhai, make inroads into this fucked up system to make Pakistan the way it should be.

No, not to the extent we need it. But what has the teaching of Islam to do with this? You need Islam as foundation for everything you do, after that strive for excellence as our prophet (PBUH) did. I don’t know what notion you have about religious people but the first book I read was the Quran and right now I am working on my MBA (fancy German university!). PhD is my final goal.

I am the biggest critic of mullahism and their fairy tales, but I cannot allow that some people portray Islam as something evil! Because it’s not an Islamic problem.

Is the model working for you all?Its a genuine question. I would'nt mind education and religion taught together but it has gone horribly wrong for us in the past.

The religion that were taught is only the basic and also Islamic story. I like Islamic study since elementary school. The one that I think is a bit harder is the obligation to remember Quran surah, but it is (maybe) only applied for Islamic private school and we dont have to do it anymore after reaching high school.

Some parent push their children to remember many Quran surah but dont stress on the meaning of the surah. It is still happening in my family.

Our new education minister Nadiem Makarim, Gojek Founder, who is still 36 years old and US educated (Harvard) try to revolutionize the system and put emphasis on critical thinking instead of remembering. Not yet known what will be the result yet. But I believe more US system will be implemented.

Since 2012 teacher salary get huge increase for some region like Jakarta. Even the teacher salary is similar like specialist doctor salary in Jakarta. Rich local government like Jakarta do that to improve our teacher quality. I think increasing teacher salary is one of the important aspect to improve education beside good curriculum

Islam as something evil! Because it’s not an Islamic problem.
your fellow people quote your books and what not before committing terrorism and what not
I have little bit idea in how many groups you people are divided, for every group the other group is infidel and wroth killing. I have heard with my own ears few years ago teenage kids calling shias d*g of hell and worth killing and what not during muharam and your history is filled with wars over power and what not
so yeah it is Islamic problem

The generation of my parents sends back money to support their family (= giving them money just cause), my generation is more into in giving money to charitable organizations.

You sir, have the right mindset. We don't have that here. I don't trust a single Ulema here to teach any leadership or thinking capabilities to our young students. We need educational institutes with professors credentials similar to yours who can (as my mother says it), "dunya aur deen ko saath lay kar chalna". Institutes that teaches both.

I am not against teaching of Islam either. We all studied Islamiyat till Olevels.

If one allows freedom, it will be while suppressing elements that try to oppose it.
They can argue that they're not being given the freedom to oppose it, but one knows that it is counter-intuitive, they're trying to destroy the very system that they're trying to obtain their excuse from.

In the same way, something which is counter-intuitive to democracy, it cannot be allowed. If radicalism and extremism are allowed to prevail under the guise of democracy, it will lead to an autocratic, or theocratic, system, and there will be no democracy.

It is all a matter of perspective. What you construe as radicalism and fundamentalism is the way of a peaceful life for many. If introducing religion & theology to youth parallel with worldly education is such a terrible idea then bring proof from history or modern times and I'll accept that this step is indeed ''counter-intuitive'' to democracy.

Every group has its ideals. The minority cannot thrust theirs upon the majority. That is the essence of democracy. Bending its definition to serve ones own ideology is dishonesty.

to protect rights of minority and now you muslims are doing same as you are in majority
What rights ? Personal religious rights were not a question. Not during beitish not under congress. No one is stoping minority muslims in india from offerring prayers or fasting. Its the economic social and legal system which is the issue.

What r we doing to non muslims ? There is no restriction on personal religious freddom. They r protected.

can a non mulism be a president or prime minister or army chief? Legally cant because majority passed the law that only muslim can be prime minsiter or president or army cheif and majority believes 1-2% of non muslims are not loyal enough to take these jobs.

Here are you minorities, "well protected"

Why are you in UK which does hold these gay prides? Please come back to homeland and serve it the way you think it should be.

I was born here

If you want homo parades and liberal atheist trash everywhere

Then come here....

Just like I wouldn't change the UK because this is Brits society, why are you trying to recreate a liberal atheist homo state in Pakistan?
